GTA 5...What ever happened to it?

Didnt GS confirm that Rockstar was putting finishing touches on the game and what not? like wtf. dont tell me they are going to put the game on the next gen consoles. that would suck. I WANT MY GTA 5!!

It's the biggest game of all time (after MW3), so be patient, it will be released. Anything else would be economically stupid.

If you want a breath of fresh air, just play the many, many thousands of incredible indie games that have come out over the past couple of years.

I've always found Just Cause 2 a much, much more enjoyable sandbox game than GTA.

If GTA took some lessons from Just Cause 2... I would be much more hyped for it.

Well over 3 years now, no official word from Rockstar on anything about a new game. Surely we'll get something early next year, and a release later in the year... over 4 freakin' years since GTA IV. GTA V better be one hell of a game, as long as it's taken...

That proves that it's in development, which everyone knows. However, it doesn't say that the game was officially announced, with info, release dates, etc.

So no, they never said they are putting the finishing touches. Just sources claim that the development is well under way.

Edit: Still, I'm with you I really want some info on it and I'd like to know officially that it is coming.

I know from a reliable source the game is comming, just be patient (you can't complain with lack of options this time of the year!).

yeah the wait has been long on this one, gta3, vc and sa all came out within 4-5 years of each other, would be nice to hear if they even have a new one in development

Also, I just released that Rockstar North is working on Agent and they helped make Red Dead Redemption.

You're right...Rockstar North has had a lot on their plate recently.

I'm guessing it'll be at E3

Okay Rockstar North, I forgive you.

It takes time... because it is quality.

Even if they are putting finishing touches on the mechanics and whatnot, it would have a boatload of time to be completely polished and playtested, not to mention that Rockstar would need like a year after announcing it to build up hype.

Plus they still have to get Max Payne 3 and Agent out of the door before they can even think about GTA 5.

GTA 5 will probably come out on the next-gen consoles because the current ones are too weak to run it.

But we could see a sequel of sorts like Vice City and San Andreas were (using the GTA 4 engine).
