GTA IV on PS3

Has been the OVERALL no.1 game on the Gamespot home page for at least a week, now considering that the 360 has a larger user base this is another good sign for the turn of the tides in this console battle... I had a PS3 over a year ago and got a bad taste for this forum section back then because of all the posts regarding the superiority of the almighty 360.. Every small advantage for the 360 hailed a million posts boasting and bragging, two things I despise, yet I will be a hypocrite and post for the sake of sharing some thoughts on the matter.

I don't care which corporation gets a little more money than the other, but to all those arrogant haters who said PS3 = Dreamcast now have a little food for thought.

hey being no.1 on the GS home page is ammo in this crazy place is it not?

do u know what it emans to be in 1 on the gamespot board? it means it was linked to the most stories that had a lots of views to those stories. it doesn't mean sold or better or anything like that, like omg lol....LibertySaint

meh.. i'm well aware of what it means to be number one on GS, and considering that most GTAIV articles here (on GS) will automatically link you to the 360 version, this signifies that there is more interest in the PS3 version on a site compromised of majorally 360 users as well. I never said anything about sales, the point was based varying interest levels. Like I said I don't care who wins the console war.

Gta 4 for 360 sold hundreds of thousands more on a global basis. ANd GTA is typically most enjoyed on a Sony console. So thats a HUGE victory.

ever thought that most 360 GTA4 players are I dont know.......playing the game and the PS3 players are getting traffic up to pretend that the PS3 version has more interest.

this thursdays NDP will give you a fair estimate for NA.

and in europe it has been confirmed that week 1 sales were 1.2 million PS3 and .9 million for 360.

Lol, yeah thats completely logical, 360 owners are playing the game, and PS3 owners, who have the same game are coming on gamespot and trying to get the traffic on the PS3 version up so they can brag about it on system wars. Theres no other possible explanation.

On topic: yeah i noticed that and found it a bit weird, assumed it was because there where a few articles about the patch for the PS3 GTA4.

nope. you fail. did you even try on that lame assumption??? considering that gta iv barely outsold ps3 on the 360 (in relation to the difference in user base favoring the 360) this is another good sign that the tides are turning. Sign one = blu ray winning the format war, and we all know how 360 fanboys declared that would never ever ever happen... like they had a clue :P

I can admit I did not know that, and I find that lame. Degrading one does not raise the other. But sadly i can say that alot of this all started when xbox1 users were calling the ps2 the pixelstation2 because of mildly inferior system capabilities to defend the fact that PS2 got more sales... Which is like debating chicken and the egg now...

The biggest ad/story/editorial whatever, the GTA IV main update here at GS on the main page coinciding for a week around the release linked right to 360, besides if you look right now at the GS homepage you will see the only GTA IV info "GTA then and Now" is a "XBOX360 feature"... Nice try though, go read it for yourself right now.

Nope, they said it had a late start, uncompetitive price, lack of game library, and was difficult to develop for. Which is true to a point, i mean besides pulling through it unlike dreamcast. But the haters were present and were quite positive of the perfect co-relation. And they were predicting the future and were wrong, just like blu ray. It was said alot this time last year.

This is very true, my life was busy with things outside gaming (I know I'm sorry) Where now it seems i'm learning a lot about how this is a vicious circle of degradation that I just took part in propagating. :(
