Not sure if it's the most overrated game of all time, but I think it's overrated.
I'd like to see what others think.
Edit: if you don't think it is the most overrated game of All-Time, then say what you think is.

It's a great game, i had a lot fo fun with it.
It seems every single game that scores over 9 is overrated on this forum.

On the contrary, i have found myself bored of gaming recently, that was untill GTA came out. I had the previous GTA games and never really understood why they were to praised, but GTA IV is one of the finest gaming experiences i have ever had. I have ADD and find it hard to play a game for a long time and often give up after a matter of hours, but GTA kept me comming back. That game is up there with Zelda: OOT for me!
In reality, GTAIV is underrated by the simpletons who can't wrap their heads around the notion that 10 =/= perfect, and that a 10/10 game can still have flaws.
Everytime someone whines about the game, they point out a couple of what they feel are basic flaws, and then go on to cry about the 10 scores as if they just somehow proved it's not a 10. Waaaah, I don't like the way Niko runs, the game's obviously not a 10. Waaaah, the cars are governed by actual physics now, it's not a 10. Waaah, you can't enter every building, it's not a 10. Waaaah, there are no parachutes and tanks, it's not a 10. It's really sad stuff.
In fact, that's how you know the game is so good: when everybody keeps bringing up these truly dumbass criticisms for it. They have to reach so far. I don't think I've heard legitimate criticism for the game, as in the type that keeps it from a 10 score. There are small annoyances, to be sure, but they're completely overshadowed by the good. That's why it's getting 10s everywhere. It's amazing how many people can't seem to grasp this.

Great post. *thumbs up*
"If you cant do one thing well, do allot of things badly" still holds true with rockstar.
I don't think anyone will say its a bad game, but 10s, idk about that.

10/10 = 100%
9.9/10 = 99%
The latter should be its score if it isn't perfect.
[QUOTE="Floppy_Jim"]It does have it's flaws, but honestly, I still couldn't give it less than 10. I think Halo 3 is a more worthy contender for M.O.V.G.A.T! (Most Overrated Video Game of All Time)thrones
*slaps* Halo 3 deserved it's score.
Gears of War on the otherhand...
I agree, Halo 3 deserved its score just for its awsome customs. Geow got its score from graphics only.

None of those would make it on my list as to why it's overrated. My main beef is the variety in the missions. It gets boring.

Except that the game has an "average"(at best) multiplayer, it has flaws, glitches and doesn't do alot to innovate since GTA:SA.
Get real, that 10/10 score is purely on hype and momentum.
That is why people are whining.
The game is good, but overrated.
Its still the same old game, new coat of pain and some new features.

Are you doing consecutive missions for the same people?
GTA4 isn't overrated at all. People love to pretend they are experts at these things...Rockstar worked pure magic with the hardware available to them and I wish people would stop trying to drag it down.TheSystemLord1it's actually called having an opinion.
Not overrated at all. That title belongs to the MGS franchise.BioShockOwnz
How? lol. If thats the case ALL games are overrated. Story, gameplay are always the best on MGS.

No, it all depended on where I was and who was closer to me at the time. But that bank robbery mission was awesome. One of the funnest ones in the series.

10 doesn't mean perfect on alot of sites though, it means that the game could not be improved upon in any meaningful way. Which GTA4 definitely could not have been improved upon.

It's not wrong if you view it as all thumbs up however even then when you have seperate criteria for graphics sound etc.. being rated, handing out a 10 is still impossible. If you want to rate a game 10/10 you have to be very subjective, i mean that what reviews are but the element of bias in rating something 10 is too far for professional reviewers.
I enjoyed the bank mission as well, though after that, money became a mute point in the game..... IMO ;)
I liked GTA IV alot at first, but now it seems that every other mission is "chase him and dont let him get away"! I want of the stuff like when you had to meet Dimitri and he double Crsses you and you wind up in a big shoot out and have to escapr the police!!! Or how about more hits on people! Also, for such an interactive game, there sure are alot of doors that cant be opened!!
Most overrated of all time? I wouldnt go that far, but yes, I think a 10 was a little strong. Id give it about an 8.5!! Imo the most overrated game in recent memory was Perfect Dark Zero. That game got what like 9 here at GS and it deserved about a 7!!

I stopped reading after the first paragraph because what you said doesn't make sense. Surely something perfect wouldn't have flaws in because it's perfect.
