These are the most overrated games according to IGN

1. GTA4

Empty city. Not much to do beside driving and shooting.

2. Uncharted 3

Too many cinematics. Story goes first at expense of gameplay.

3. Minecraft

Too complex. It´s more like a Lego builder than a game.

4. Legend of zelda: Majora's Mask

Only 6 temples. Weird Link. Side quests are not good enough compared to previous installments.

It is hard to understand whether they speak of Uncharted 3 or Uncharted in general.

Complete bullshit, there's so much more to do than that. They seem to forget that the game has a multiplayer full of hundreds of hours of fun.

Yeah seriously, there's detail in every damn corner and on PC there's so much traffic and pedestrians when set to max. The whole city feels much more alive than any other virtual open world city by far.

The reason Minecraft is overrated is because it's too complex? I agree it's overrated, but definitely not for the reason they give. I mean, it doesn't even make any sense.

Pretty much every game is overrated at IGN.

GTA IV and Uncharted 3 were pretty overrated so I agree.

Wait they didn't even say mincraft was complex, they just said it wasn't much of a game and more of a toy, in the respect that all your given is a place and an item and then you decide what to do :S

My most overrated game is the assasins creed series, i've played through 1 and 2, and i just felt so bored, the combat is repetitive, block block block counter repeat, the story was quick boring, there was no point in upgrading your castle, by the time you got the great asassins custome the game was over, the mechanics were rubbish and the missions were so boring it was a real bore just to get through it. 2 was better than one but not by much.

Then why do you award perfect scores to those games when they are so overrated IGN ???

I agree that GTA IV was boring and certainly overrated, but I don't think anything can come close to MGS IV as far being the most overrated game of last gen.  The game got near perfect reviews from almost every site but was nothing more than cutscene after cutscene the entire game.  A complete piece of trash IMO.

I think Uncharted 3 is a game that intergrates gameplay and cinematics quite nicely. The story that is the driving point for the cinematics is the part that is hilariously bad.

I agree on GTA IV and U3. Good games but not nearly as good as some people claim or as good as their world rankings suggest

Why not. IGN has prety good articles. They are usually overpositive about AAA launches. But for the rest, they are quite trustworthy.

GTAIV is overrated by critic and underrated by gamers.

I did find UC3 to be quite inferior to what i was expecting... especially in the story department :/
