probably because they can't handle 60fps for such a big game. Halo 3 and 4 looked and played fantastic a 30fps, if done right 30 fps can still look great.

it not that, its just I wanted to start seeing games at this point to start being 1080p 60fps by now, and when a port of a last gen game cant even be 60fps on next gen... makes you wonder if even half the games this gen will be 60fps.

I am sure they had to make cut-backs on the Xbone One in order to achieve 1080p. Probably on the shadows or polygon count. I mean look at the pictures above the Xbone one looks like shit compared to the PS4.

I beat the game on PS3. I might get it on a steam sale but I'm definitely gonna wait a bit. GTA IV crashes all the time for no reason. I'm not sure how Rockstar can get away with shit like that without any legal ramifications if EA is having to fight a class action lawsuit over BF4.

Yes, had these companies been straight forward and announced plans day one they were releasing better versions, I would have waited to get the superior versions...but that didn't happen and due to sales and marketing, it won't happen in the future.

My only choice is to avoid buying games in the future and wait and hope they release better versions or bite the bullet and buy the game when it's still relevant.

You DO know that PS4's framerate fluctuates because its rendering Full 1080p display all the time while Xbox One does not? Not to mention there's constant screen tearing on the Xbone version too.

Both versions offer IQ above of the 900p's. And that's what should be celebrated here.

The first person mode necessitated higher-quality textures and assets, and in a game as detailed and vast as GTA V that's undeniably going to hit performance since Rockstar is prioritizing 1080p for both consoles. Not to mention the numerous graphical upgrades they've made for the new-gen versions.

Passed up this game last gen since I figured it would eventually come to the new consoles.. Looking forward to finally playing it with all the updated additional features.. Good stuff

Everyone loves crushed blacks, I love it when all the little details in darker parts of the spectrum are missing.

Probably because they drastically improved the visual fidelity of the world and greatly increased the amount of objects and NPC actors in the world. No point in reducing these things to hit 60 fps when the game doesn't need to be 60 fps. They needed to show it off as being a generational leap. They would have to downgrade the fidelity a bunch to hit a stable 60 on either console

What little details are missing? Needless crap in the corner of the screen? The X1...whatever the hell they use:crushed black or whatever you want to call it, produces a better image. It looks more lifelike. I love whatever they are doing because it makes the game look better.

It's more along the lines of boosting contrast. Open up a photo and turn up the contrast--you'll see.
