Guerrilla Games is moving to a new building, hopes to increase employees to 400 from 250

Big things coming. Or small things, since they want to make A games withing 1 or 2 years not just AAA games.

Guerrilla will lease the five office floors, totaling 7300 square meters, from the beginning of next year. "I've been looking for room for growth for three or four years," says CEO Hermen Hulst, "but that is hardly possible in Amsterdam, which will be the base for Guerrilla." We are going to put everything to our will. For ten years we do not have to worry about our accommodation anymore, the idea is that we will never go out here again. "At Guerrilla there are now around 250 game developers in permanent employment, which can double during the final development of games. The company, one of the most important gaming studios in the world, wants to grow to at least 400 permanent employees.

Growth should also make it possible to release A-list games more often. "We have worked at Horizon for 6.5 years, which is exceptional: we want to release games in the two or three years, both new titles and games based on existing titles."

Hopefully the new studio will be focused on new IP, or Horizon, and not on machine-gun-shitting out Killzone games noone asked for.

I would be up for a new Killzone. Idc what others say. The series is good imo, not great but good. People overreact over the series, I wonder if they have actually played Killzone 2 and 3 and are not just jumping on the hate bandwaggon.

SF was disappointing but it was a launch game after all and thus rushed. Killzone 2 and 3 were good games. A new Killzone with a better time and budget of development would probably turn out great, especially after Horizon experience

It's a good franchise and both 2 and 3 were excellent. Even KZSF is not that bad, if you think of it as a start gen game.

Anyway another Killzone is welcome for me and any other IP. GG has proven to be one of sony's biggest studios.

Killzone 2 remains their only 9+ in metacritic. It was an amazing shooter. But I agree. It's time to make it die.

Guerrilla Games did a fantastic job with Horizon, they earned it. Kudos to there new building HQ and this will help create new jobs for those who wants to get into gaming developments.

Also, I like just about all the Killzone games, I hope they work on Killzone Collection Remastered for PS4 in the future at least. It's overdue for Killzone Collection by now. Looking forward to Horizon 2 but on the PS5.

Very true, but Crytek focus moved towards creating their engine for resale. It was almost like Crysis 2 and 3 were tech demos for their engines.

Crysis 1 was the tech demo, according to pretty much everyone that didn't enjoy it.

Crysis 2 and 3 is when their eyes got bigger than their stomach, forgot the values that made Crysis 1 (and Warhead) one of the best action games in a long time, and decided to abandon their core on PC to develop mediocre products for console*. Crysis 2, Ryse, Homefront: The Revolution (because when everything else doesn't work, make an open-world action game!)...and when those didn't sell as well as they thought they should, they decided to jump on the free-to-play/pay-to-win bandwagon with Warface.

I try not to take gaming too serious, but Crytek has got to be one of the most disappointing things to occur in entertainment. Crysis 1 is honestly one of my favorite games, I was really looking forward to more and better installments, but it's been downhill since Far Cry 1 and Crysis 1. *sigh* guess we will see how Showdown turns out but, as a large studio, I don't think it bodes well that they're developing it as an early release title.

*Not a knock against console, nor jealousy (I like multi-platform titles); they wanted the big bucks and thought they could get it from a different market. Now look at them...suing Star Citizen for not using their game engine any more, developing early access titles like some amateur or independent, and failing to pay their employees.

Horizon 2 is a given.

Horzion zero dawn was my goty 2017 I hope with more staff they can speed up 2 for PS4 so I don’t have to wait till PS5 to play it.

I would like to see GG come up with a new shooter. They could also be a engine supplier and support for other studios that could use the decima engine. They should support japan studio and any gun for hire studios that make playstaton games. GG picked up the Rainbow Six Siege director. I hope they make something towards that end. Decima MP Socom maybe. Its time for sony to start making those types of games. With all this crossplay pressures they will soon not be able to rely on 3rd party to drive psn subs lol. GTS is a ****in phenomenon mp racer but sold and marketed like a main GT game with no single player content. The marketing people need to stop ****ing around.

What?! Yes! I skipped out on Killzone Shadow Fall but I absolutely enjoyed the other Killzone titles; especially 2. This is what I would love Sony to do; bring a remastered collection or focus on a solid FPS with online play. They got the 3rd person action adventure down perfectly but would like to see more variety in the shooting department that isn't multi-platform. Resistance 3 would be cool too.

I remember playing killzone 2 on my 1080p plasma with surround sound and it was such an amazing experience. Shadowfall was disappointing, but Horizon was unreal. I would love for them to make a new killzone

I enjoyed KZ2 and KZ3 on the PS3 (with mouse and keyboard converter). I wouldn't mind another.

I want Killzone 2 remaster, 1080p/4K, 60fps, redefined controls for DS4, HDR, reboot online! Best shooter in the world. KZSF was disappointing at everything except competitive which only -1% played lol.

Scrap killzone ... even the "great" KZ2 had a boring grey repetitive campaign and the MP had so much hit delay in it's netcode it was embarrasing that it released in that state... and never got fixed.

These guys have the graphic talent, make an RPG, make a Space Game/Sim ... make something that isn't a god damn short action/shooter ... branch out from the damn PS3/PS4 Sony Cliche.

Make something grand - 400 staff. Make the "Star Citizen" that Chris Robert's clearly can't.

Zelda will get hammered...... It can be the best game ever made, but it's not enough to stop it getting lost in the sea of hype that only the launch of a next generation console has.

Either way a talented studio and expect great games to come from them.
