Guess XBL couldn't save ZUne (RIP)

such a sad day for zune. I remember how MS was touting how xbl would be the key feature for the zune, but today the has officially died :( . we will miss yah zune, may you RIP.

Zune is dead because Microsoft has rolled the software in Windows Phone 7. There's literally no reason to for MS to continue selling a dedicated MP3 player - it wasn't doing anything against Apple's products, whereas there phone has a legitimate chance to go compete with Android and iOS mobile devices.

That being said, I enjoy my Zune 30gb and Zune HD. Shame - very well made MP3's players.

i still like mine, i like the ease of playlist making as compared to ipod

I really liked the zunes. I think I had them all Zune 30,Zune 8, Zune 120, and the Zune HD :P Great MP3 player and even better software to boot. I no longer have one though :cry: I wish they still made them.

XBL was never designed to save Zune. It was designed to give people a portal through which ti buy music and movies...which succeeded.

Yep. That's why I bought a 30GB Zune in 2007 and in 2009, bought a second gen iPod Touch and never looked back. Sad. The device had potential but MS was too little, too late to capitalize on it.

I remember when I used to think the Zunes were ALOT better than Ipods. And then 2007 came and the iphone/ipod touch ran that device into nothingness :lol:.

I was one of those APPLE SUX BRAHHH people a long time ago and bought a Zune instead...man what a mistake. I now have had like 5 ipods since then and now an Iphone4. Zune deserves its death imo.

EDIT: bought an Iphone 3G back in 2008 (my first and only ipod/apple device ever). I might upgrade soon to the Iphone 5 when it comes out, or I might go droid. Looking back, im starting to realize that the only reason people (including me) liked the Zunes is because they were "differrent" and everyone else had an Ipod. I was also one of the guys who liked those cheap sandisk Ipod nano knockoffs, because they were cheaper, better, and "different".

Too bad the Zune HD is pretty damn good...my wife likes hers and I like it better than my Ipod touch

People who bought Zune players seemed to me like the type of people who root for second best just cause they can. Its clear the iPod is superior in every respect, and this is coming from an apple hater. I dont own an ipod because i think its over priced (like all apple products) and apple overchargers for all accessories. but if i had to pick a mp3 player, it would probably be an ipod.II_Seraphim_II

The Zune HD was awesome with music, not much else. And the zune pass is a pretty good deal. $15 a month for unlimited music, plus 10 songs you get to keep forever. Now that they have phones with the same software, there's really no reason to keep it alive.
