They're fixing a lot of things I don't like about MMOs in general. I'd love to see MMOs become something everyone can enjoy, and with stuff like TOR, Guild Wards 2 and a bunch of korean action-mmos like TERA they do seem to be taking the genre to a more accessible direction.
And it's about damn time. The old unnamed behemoth with their army of rabid fanboys will of course fight the change with everything they've got, but eventually they must fall, or adapt ..I hope.
NCsoft knows how to fail. I wouldn't get my hopes up.
GW was absolute trash as an MMO, it's laughable.
I wouldn't call Guild Wars a MMO.NCsoft knows how to fail. I wouldn't get my hopes up.

I logged countless hours into the original guild wars. Almost an embarassing amount, but I finally burned out. Nice to hear that GW 2 is coming along. I was afraid it would become vaporware.

5 Million sold, article is from Feb 2008. Yes, quite a failure. 5 years later you can still find teams for PVE and PVP.

What this guy said. GW was an online RPG that relied on heavily instanced servers, all the way down to the world itself.

6 million sold by April 2009
any console exclusive selling 6 million would be a success, yet on pc it's a failure, wow guess that's the "pc standard" people are talking about

Honestly, they messed up with the annoucement of this game. Anet annouced it around the same time EoTN came out and they still aren't even done with all the classes yet. That was just about three years ago, and even now information about it is just trickling through.

Uhhh I think he was being sarcastic about the "failure" part, hence why he added its still possible to find teams today.
I'm super stoked for GW2 I put in over 1500hrs in the first GW so I can't wait. Shame there wasn't any new info in that interview.
