Guitar Hero 3 - buy it for PS3 or 360 ?

All,

I have both consoles but I'm leaning towards the PS3 version as it will be backward compatible with older GH versions not released for the MS console. Any other reasons besides achivements to get it onthe 360 ?

If you're looking for backwards compatability, PS3 version is the way to go. But it really doesn't matter which version you get, they'll all most likely be the same.

After some research I found out that the PS3 guitar wont be backward compatible with GH1 and GH2 for the PS2. This is really a Shame. I will have to stick with the 360 version which is at least compatible with GH2.

Wow, no ****......what a disappointment. Thiscements my option of gettin it for the 360

However.....here's another question...

Will the Rock Band controller be compatibile with GH1 and GH2 for PS2? That could be a work-a-round......

Hmm thats weird. IIRC the rock band guitars will work with the old PS2 games.(ill try to find the link) No idea why the Les Pauls wouldnt work with them.. Guess Activision is just trying to rip people off

Well i only have a 360, but if you have GH2 for the 360 then its probably best to just buy GH3 for the 360.

I don't have GH2 for the 360. But I can buy an used copy and still be able to play with the Wireless guitar on the 360, this can be cheaper thandownloading from XBL.

You're thinking about Rock Band. Both the PS3 version and 360 version of GH3 will have wireless guitars

Yeah, so unless they make it back compat id go with the 360, at least you can get GH2 w/o controller cheap.

yeah was about to correct that myself

Also, IF you have a kickass sound system, the PS3 version may have a better sound quality due to the uncompressed audio. (This game is about the music :P) Dont hold me to that, since Im only guessing about it,asdasd
