Madden 08 Wii had every reason to sell well. I've been told constantly how the Wii-mote makes analog sticks worthless and dated. So why doesn't this revolutionary form of control help bolster sales? You are now immersed in football, and the game is $10 cheaper, why doesn't it sell better? The Wii has pretty much equaled the Xbox 360 in hardware sales, and yet the Wii version of Madden 08 is struggling to break 100k, meanwhile the PS3 and Xbox 360 are already over 1 million pretty much. (not sure about PS3 but it's gaining)
If Madden on Nintendo systems always sells lower than the others, then what does Nintendo have to do to change that? Because EA is probably thinking about pulling the plug on this one, just like they did on Gamecube. Every time I see Wii supporters show off Wii hardware sales, I laugh and think about the software and how Nintendo did not change their weaknesses from the Gamecube era. Weak third party support and no effort to change it or help out the 3rd parties. I remember a quote from Lucasarts saying Nintendo is a bit cold towards third-parties for some reason, not much support.
It's actually a poor signal when you just resign yourself and say certain Wii games will always be doomed to lower class sales forever. The point of this Nintendo Wii was to revolutionize all gaming genres so that one simply would not even want to look or touch the previous generation controls. Madden Wii should not be struggling to make it past 100,000 copies when there are so many Wii consoles out there.Perhaps all these people laughing at Sony and MS for losing to Nintendo hardware sales forgot that you took a major sacrifice. One in visuals, another in features. And perhaps it's Sony and MS laughing last when 3rd parties begin to pull Nintendo support after professing it earlier on. Something tells me Tony Hawk Proving Ground on Wii will not do so hot as the others.

some things to consider is the quality of third parties on wii. madden 07 did really well for madden on a nintendo console... should be around 300 to 500k. Why? it was a good version scoring higher than the 360 and ps3 versions. madden 08 on the other hand scored lower on the wii so it makes sense ppl wouldnt be as interested.
take rayman RR for example. it sold over a million copies on the wii even though it is also on the 360 and ps2 i believe... why? the wii version is far superior to those versions.
Quality third party games usuallly do welll on nintendo systems. the catch is... they have to be good games. Resident evil franchise has done remarkably well on the cube and the wii, soul calibur did really well on the cube, etc. again, the thing is, they have to be good games. you use the splinter cell wii game as an example? look at the freaking reviews for the wii version and compare them to the rest of the versions... the wii version was a quick lousy port... thank god it sold poorly.
