The Xplorer Controller isn't nearly as good as the Controller SG. I'll stick with the PS2 version, thank you.

OVERRATED. But there are a lot of reports that the 360 guitar is AWESOME.

That's weird. The 360 Xplorer is supposed to be top notch and really high quality.

I don't think he's talking about the quality more like the design.

Bingo. The buttons, the strum bar, it all feels great. But the design is not just ergonomic, and if you hit "Select" to activate star power like me, then you're screwed.

Based on what? The design is better, the developer even said the buttons were easier (simulated lower action) on the 360 x-plorer, and the spacing is the same otherwise.  Plus now the wire is not in the way either, with it being on the bottom of the controller. 

On top of that this is the best version of the game to have.  Much improved graphics, audio, extra songs, leaderboards, achievements, and downloadable content.

Based on what?

Experience. The feeling of plastic jabbing into ones right forearm while attempting "Beast and the Harlot" on Expert is an experience not soon forgotten.

Well of course it takes some getting used to after playing with the ps2 guitar. Playing a demo at best buy surely doesn't compare with playing the final game like these reviewers did.

The controller is the exact same. And does it take some getting used to? Undoubtedly. However, no matter how much you get used to it, the "Back" button is IMPOSSIBLE to hit while playing, so someone like me who relies on hitting the "Select" button while playing to activate star power is screwed. And the mere fact that there is a way to hold the guitar, not only that, but one of the most common ways of holding the guitar, and it jabs into your forearm while playing? That's a dramatic failure of foresight that did not occur with the SG Controller.
