What about using a real life guitar to play a guitar video game buddy?
its not the same, there are no limitations when you play guitar in real life, you can play anything you want and make every song yoursreal life guitar>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>any guitar video gamehalfnakedJust like real football >>> video game football. Real skateboarding >>> video game skateboarding. Real piloting a fighter jet >>> video game piloting a fighter jet. For those who actually care enough to learn it, more power to them. For the rest of us, game on.

why not do both? this will be a great learning tool for begginers and fun distraction for experienced players.
It surely will be a lot more fun to make first steps with guitar playin this way than to do it normally.

[QUOTE="ndrewn"]It looks like a good learning program but getting a real giutar seems expensive.zero9167why would someone want to learn to play a guitar but not actually buy one? that just doesnt make sense
So that your air guitar looks more like you totally know what you're doing. :P

I didnt say I was going to buy one myself. Or learn it. Im speaking for the public.

me toohttp://www.guitarrising.com/
it's a Guitar Hero clone , but one that will make use of real guitars interfaced with to your sound card, and will teach real guitar skills, from begginers levels to difficulty settings that will challenge even experienced players

Sounds more like a learning tool rather than a game. Not really comparable to games like Guitar Hero I'd say. And obviously it won't have any actual songs, just the ones recorded by the developers.

its not the same, there are no limitations when you play guitar in real life, you can play anything you want and make every song yourswow this looks great. . . i am presuming you just hook it up with a lead that comes with it?
i think though it would be better on consoles (if it isnt on them allready) simply because i just dont see myself staning infront of my computer GH style rockin out and yes i do have to stand up to play any GH game lol i like to feel like a rockstar :P
lmao i just realised i could play this game with my strat hahaha wicked :P
So it actually gets you ready for the real thing?
Cool. 8)

you know what gets you rdy for the real thing?
putting down the fake thing and taking up the initiative to play the real thing.
next up, a new thing for guitar rising to prepare you fore
p.s., ive been playing guitar for about 7 years so im kind of disgusted with the bastardization of talented guitar.
I don't own a guitar to play on it even if i owned the game nor do i feel like paying $100+ for one to play on the game...
Give me Guitar Hero over it anyday.
Ironically enough, i hate Guitar Hero and most of those rhythm games. Last one i liked was Amplitude on the PS2. Ah, those were the greats.
It looks like a good learning program but getting a real giutar seems expensive.ndrewn
WRONG. You can get a decent guitar that will last for many years for less than the price of a new PS3.
Morons who go buy guitars from 'music stores' (oh I laff) will end up with the 180% premium on the top...
Let's face it if you can beat Guitar Hero 3 on Expert you have got more dedication and talent than most of these huffy puffy musician types that cry over how Guitar Hero is "killing music" or some such nonsense.JiveTRofl, you really should watch the Southpark episode 'Guitar Queero' in that case.
