Remember how everyone was making fun of the XBOX for being so huge? Where are the insults about the PS3 being Enourmus(in price and size). And once again, Nintendo has figured out to bring out a small console again(size and price) this time around. I added two Sega consoles to spice things up. The thing I hated about the Genesis/CD/32X combo is that you needed 3 plugs for those huge "transformer plugs"(which is the bad thing with the retro consoles. The NES, SNES, and Genesis had those "Block Plugs" that you could only plug on the bottom outlet -if you pluged it on the top, it'll take up both spaces- and you couldn't plug two on one outlet unless you had a power strip.)
People cracked some jokes sure but that 360 is still a tad bigger and people stopped makign this joke a long time ago (although i still laugh at the old controllers),

At least the 360 is smaller than the PS3 this time around. I guess PS3 fanboys always have something to complain about on how the 360 looks and how great the PS3 looks. Just admit it, PS3 is Bigger than XBOX 360. But they're both monsterous compared to the Wii.
I didn't have as much of a issue about the Xbos's size as I did the size of its controller. Fortunately, PS3 doesnt have that problem with the PS controller, the best controller to grace gaming.
The funniest thing is I heard some interview (or maybe it was on a show) about someone talking about tips for consumers on purchasing a next-gen system and he mentioned how it was great that the Wii was portable and it hurt the PS3 and 360 because they weren't. Does anyone seriously tote around their Wii/PS3/360 on a regular basis to where this even matters in the least. Honestly I only move my consoles to clean them (or clean around them). I could care less if they weighed 100lbs.

Why is there even a poll? Sega Genesis (version 1) with a Sega CD (version 1) and a Sega 32x, plus their respective power transformers are space consuming. In terms of the size becoming awkward, having the multiple power adaptors for the Genesis/CD/32x was problematic.
However, at the end of the day, I don't get why it's even an issue. The Gamecube was tiny and had a little carrying handle as though you were going to carry it around like a lunchbox. I never did that - with all the controllers, games, and cords, you still needed a backpack to transport it.
For the record, the Atari 5200 had the most wasted space, and the consoles with built in TVs were the biggest.
Given the cost and desirability of all the next-gen systems, what are the chances you're really carrying them around in anything less than the equivelant of a Targus bag? I worry about portability with something like a laptop or a handheld, with a console, who cares? It's going to sit on top of a bookshelf anyway.
Being that I have both consoles sitting next to each other, I can say that they are almost the same size. The PS3 is only a tiny bit bigger. If you add the 360's ridiculous power brick to the equation, then the 360 is bigger by a lot. I don't think the 360 looks that bad. It looks exactly like a white Dell Optiplex. It doesn't look as good as the PS3, but its not hideous like the original Xbox was.
PS3 - big but awsome looking, the size, wieght and look make it look exensive (like it is)
Xbox 360 - looks reasonable , only slighly smaller ... but 360 + power brick = approx size of PS3 ...
Wii - small - looks great - looks cheap - is cheap ...
In the end each console supports looks which support its pricepoint and size ... also unlike the Xbox vs. PS2. vs. Wii the PS3 isn't a huge amount larger ...

360 + power brick= bigger than PS3. that is a fact. If I really cared I would take a picture, but I don't so i won't lol. As long as they keep working and I can play gamnes on them, It doesn't matter how big they are.
well at least sony made it look good unlike m$ with the xbox and the 360 is basicly the same size once you add the power brick in, and internal p/s is much better than a external one which you have to keep ventilated
Man, I made a thread abotu this as soon as it came out...didnt get too many responses but still, the ps3 is huge, but not manythreads about it, but when the xbox came out, M got picked on like crazy...Guess it shows the class of the two respective console owners...HA
