As of today, hackers have be able to create an uncensored version of Manhunt 2 for the Nintendo Wii, using a critical bug in Nintendo's RSA signature that compromises ALL of the Wii's security. Allowing them to edit the text file with the configuration, and recompile it into with a authenticaed signature the Wii can recognize. It's still as complicated as the PSP version, but seeing as this is the most realistic version do you think this will mean more trouble for Rockstar?

After the Hot Coffee fiasco Rockstar will be ready for something like this.

They've probbly buffed up their end user license agreement so that they cannot possibly be made liable for something like this.

On subject, but dealing with the PS2/PSP versions:

http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/02/esrb-statement-about-manhunt-2-hacks-and-controversy/

ESRB president Patricia Vance said:

"Manhunt 2's rating makes it unmistakable that the game is intended for an older audience. The unauthorized hacking into the code of this game doesn't change that basic fact."

I typed it myself.

I'm not allowed to give a link, because the forum that I got it off of contains information that's not allowed to be posted here.

This just happend today by the way.

If you want proof go look at any Wii news site that supports homebrew/hacking, as this is a MAJOR breaking for homebrew. (The Wii has been fully exploited). I'm talking about the tool used, not the uncencor for Manhunt 2 itself.

The game should never hae been censored in the first place. This game is intended for adults and its not Rockstars fault the fat secrateray at work buys it for 11 year old Billy and then calls the ESRB complaining.

Is there also a way to hack the mediocrity out of the game?

Actually yes.

The tool allows editing of ANYTHING in the game.

People have already been able to change stuff so in SSBB. Mario can say, have Zeldas moves!

People have edited Super Mario Strikes too, to allow insane stat boosts in the players. (I pray to god no one will use them online).

Ok, so if this is true, then it is 100% RockStar's fault. If Hot Coffee wasn't enough to make them be more careful, then I guess nothing is enough. Looks like it might be time for yet another potential lawsuit and more Jack Thompson crusades against RockStar...

Hopefully Nintendo will find a way to Brick any modded Wii. SSB online will be unplayable from the start due to freaking hackers and **** that aren't good enough to win on their own, so they cheat.
