Half Life 3 Makes Appearance On GAMESCOM Product List

LIST

Half-Life 3 has appeared in a list of products set to be exhibited at Gamescom in Cologne this week.

The official Gamescom website points to a PDF file containing a "list of all the new hardware and software products" set to appear in Germany.

The list also contains Dragon Age 3 from EA, although it's unclear at this point exactly how accurate its contents should be considered.CVG UK

In case thats not enough, I just got off the phone with a Gamescom representative who confirmed to me that every game on that list will be showcased at Gamescom 2012, and thatthe list itself is entirely legitimate. I didnt ask about Half-Life 3, but youre free to pick up the phone if you like.

Dragon Age 3 and Half-Life 3 appearing on the Gamescom-compiled list of games at the show was "a mistake", the organisers have told Eurogamer.

Eurogamer asked three times why the names were listed, but no explanation was given.

I have made a second call to Gamescom. I was informed that Valve had previously requested that HL3 actually be placed on the list; but that apparently, "just a few minutes ago", Valve requested that HL3 be removed from that list. As of writing, it remains on that list.

I fully support devs who take their time (Bethesda, Valve, Rockstar...). While i want HL3 badly, i cant wait for the next L4D. Its been almost 3 years since L4D2 came out, and its still my favourite coop game of all time.

I wouldnt be supprised. UE4, CE3 etc, they need to show off a new engine, and a bit of half life 3 hype will certainly help sell the engine.

I bet it will be some super high res hipster glasses :P

thank god the FPS genre needs a kick in the pants to get bck on the right track.
