What games it the best?
Far Cry vs. Half-Life
Half-Life 2 vs. Crysis
I say Crysis because Half-Life is old, but Half-Life 3 is maybe going to be better.

Crysis is better where it actually matters, and that's gameplay and graphics.Aljosa23gameplay is subjective and graphics dont mean jack in the long run. only graphics whores put that high on the list

Watching my casual friends' jaws hit the floor after showing off Crysis on ultra high is more fun than I had with HL2 :Panshul89Couldn't do it. My machine chokes on Crysis on Very High at 1680x1050. I think it's running out of VRAM. High looks good enough, and runs a lot smoother. None of my friends have seen my PC, though, so I'm not sure what they'd say.

At that point, DX9 looks the same as DX10 High, and I'm already fine with DX10 High's framerate (I certainly wasn't before, but a second card scales pretty well on Crysis).
I could mess with the config files, but at that point, my "**** it" instinct kicks in and I just quit worrying about it and play the game.

As a hermit, you'd probably expect me to rip my hair out trying to decide between these two (or pick HL without a doubt). But I have no hesitation whatsoever when I say Crysis.
It's just vastly superior as far as shooters go, in my opinion. Fantastic combat, a huge technical achievement and advanced (but buggy) A.I. looks more appealing to be than what I've experienced in the Half-Life series.... a well-presented experience of bland combat, weak A.I. and a mediocre story. Granted, Half-Life's story is still better than Crysis, but that's like claiming that an 80-year old woman is sexier than her 90-year old sister.

download others config files its much more easy.[QUOTE="dgsag"][QUOTE="NewsKing"]You can't exactly compare any of those...What games it the best?
Far Cry vs. Half-Life
Half-Life 2 vs. Crysis

Now we can't compare a FPS with a FPS?
Well Farcry 2 and Crysis are more comparable because there similar in terms of gametype, HL2 is more linear (Not a bad thing) than Crysis and FC2 which are more open oriented games. So there really not that comparableHmm... Far Cry > Crysis.
Half Life 1 > Half Life 2.
Hmm... This next part is hard. I think HL1 > HL2 > FC >>>>> Wii Fit > Crysis.
I was not a big fan of Crysis. I had more fun in the demo than I did in the entire campaign. I loved the physics, though. And Warhead was better designed.
Both games were awesome fun the first time around. Half Life had the story but honestly I enjoyed Crysis more. I even was running Crysis at low/medium settings. It has so much replay value in my opinion. I still find myself running around thinking of new ways to kill Koreans on the first level. I will say this though, the alien parts of Crysis were fairly boring except for when I first played the game.
Pay attention people... he said Half Life 1... why must people be so terrible at noticing the most obvious things and then go about twisting subjects... I wish people would wake up when they post it's so annoying... (speaking specifically of people crossing over with their comparisons).
Personally, I feel the entire Half Life series is overrated... good, but overrated... as for Crysis... hard to say, haven't had a lot of time with it... Far Cry I also felt was overrated too though...
I guess I'd have to go with 1 > Far Cry and 2 > Crysis by default pretty much -_-
The Half Life series was pretty awesome for it's time, I enjoyed the Half Life series more than Far Cry. But Crysis I enjoyed more than the Half Life series. The thing is the story was much better in Half Life 2, but the gameplay is what I'm after, and Crysis has the best gameplay in a shooter I've ever experienced. The idea, that the physics combined with the Nanosuit is just genious. Being able to punch down into the top of buildings with strength mode and killing any inhabitants it falls on is just pure awesomeness.
Really, these are my 2 favorite FPS's anyway, so I put them both at the top. :P
Left 4 Dead is right behind though. lol
For all that people say "crysis is all graphics" etc, i really enjoyed the gameplay in Crysis. Everything worked well, and decent graphics was a bonus.
It felt more like a movie than a game, which made it feel really epic and engaging.
Half life is good, but i dont really care too much about the story. Half life is all about the terrific game mechanics and levels.
