halo 1 vs halo 2

If Microsoft had went along with its plan to make an HD online version of halo 1 would the top players on the leader boards look the same. I would argue no because halo 1 has a totally different play ****than halo 2 . The difference between a good player and noob is huge on halo 1 . But that difference is drastically changed on halo 2. You can easily get killed by a too bit nobody on halo 2 because it a noobie game. And I think that is the core reason that so many hardcore halo 1 players hate halo2. It took time to learn the moves,tactics, and skills of the game and in halo 2 it seems all of that time and effort was wasted. Because all of the maneuvers we had practice and tried out on our friends no longer worked. For example, if your favorite character in Virtual fighter or street that you have played with for years suddenly got a whole new moves list and none of the controls were the same. So what has happened ? None of your old strategies work, all of your old combos are useless, and your getting your behind handed to you by some 12 year old smashing buttons. This is how a hardcore halo1 fan feels going over to halo 2 and that might be the reason for all of the animosity toward halo 2.
