Halo 2 for Vista is a solid game that probably won't appeal to anyone who's played any recent high-profile PC shooters.
Not exactly surprising.

"The multiplayer side is fun, too, but all of it feels overshadowed. The PC has more than its fair share of amazing shooters that blow Halo 2 away in every possible way, making this one best suited for Halo fans that want an easy way to play custom maps. However, even those fans are just as likely to be put off by the imbalance between the game's two controller options, making it a bit of a no-win situation, despite its high production quality."

Thinking that Halo is god and can compete with PC FPS. (Sorry if that is old news) :)
I'm not suprised either, besides it is a three year old game. zerooslo7990
Where as games like Starcraft are still going strong after 10 years, and others have endured such as UT2k4, WoW, Half-Life 2, etc.
I don't know who's owned here though, Hermits or Lemmings. I'd say Lemmings.

You act like Hermits care about this game.
We don't and in the review it stated Halo 2 was nothing compared to a PC FPS...lol In every possible way.
But when Zelda TP gets a 8.8 GS is biased? We're talking about a 3 year old game that originally was made to run on a 700ish mhz processor and a glorified GeForce 3/4."Thats pretty good for a 3 year old port. "

The Bad: Gamepad users get potentially unfair advantage in multiplayer with auto-aim; graphics are unimpressive by today's standards; poor single-player storyline with unsatisfying cliff-hanger ending; arbitrary differences between silver and gold users.

That's very true.
Thus strengthening the reasoning behind Halo should stay on consoles. PC has a much, much higher standards for FPS'. That is the reason why F.E.A.R. was such an inferior port, because it was designed on PC, and it dealt with the KB/M combo, making the devs able to utilize multiple buttons for the round-house kick, the slide tackle and etcetera. The regular gamepad combo works better for a more simplified games such as Halo. You only really need to shoot, jump and throw gernades. Thus the port to PC would be deemed inferior as opposed to other FPS'. It goes both ways though, a console to PC port of FPS'/a PC to console port of FPS' will most likely fail.Bluestorm-Kalas

I have an idea get a damn gamepad when forza 2 comes out the owners with a Streeing wheel will have an unfair advantage due to more control of break and gas and prsise turning. I wasn't exactly surprised by this. But heck, I'm gonna buy it anyway, if I ever get Vista. I've never played Halo 2, and I suck at using gamepads in FPSs. I wanna check out the multiplayer to see if it's all it's cracked up to be.

As well as the fact that the port was absolutely horrid.
Halo 3 is just more or less Halo 2 with minor improvements. I wonder what it'll score? :?BioShockOwnzHave no fear, the reason they scored down Halo 2 on PC was because "It couldn't keep up with the PC big boys". Most ofthose aren't on consoles, so it still has a chance!

Exactly, it was intact, not revolutionary. Halo defined how FPS' should be played on two joysticks. (Perfect Dark and Goldenyeye defined console FPS')[QUOTE="Magical_Guy"]console gamers need auto-aim to even compete with pc gamers -Sora
give us keyboard and mouse, and we will do just as good as PC games.
We still have the atvantage of higher rez, aa,af and FPS.
Also, we can tweak the controls out for the mouse and keyboard, in ways which are not possible on consoles (polling rate...etc).

Not better in every way. The PC port was so badly optimized that it couldn't run particularly well on the (at the time) latest hardware. Nowadays, however, it runs well, leaving PC gamers with the best version of Halo.

I disagree. Put me on a large, high-def T.V., then on a small, old tube T.V. and I'd do pretty much the same.
In what way, the PC version is better in everyway and it still scored lower..lol projectpat2007Horrid optimization as well lack of co-op (which is one of the hearts of Halo). The Xbox version was better, deal with it. The only reasons I'd ever play the PC-version over the Xbox-version would had been to a little boost in accuracy due to KB/M as well as the multiplayer (which was barely playable at that time if you didn't have quite a beast of a PC).
Bungie Studios did not make this game plus it's a three year old port - so, this score isn't exacting surprising.
