These three gmsalways get brought up during FPS(I consider MP2 a FPS doesn't matter tho).IMO Half life 2 is better because of the atmosphere and the feeling of the gm.Half Life 2 starts off like a great shooter, then turns into RE4 in the graveyard area(Which scares the **** out of me when i ran out of bullets).All the different types a weapons and the gravity gun which is an amazing weapon.What gm do u guys like and give the reason.

As do I. But anyway, IMO, Half-Life rules the FPS genre. It just does everything right, and has raised the bar for First Person Shooters. Twice. Not to mention, the first game revolutionized the genre. I am not however, going to go through all of the reasons why I believe Half-Life, as a series, is the greatest FPS of all time.
I've finished them all and I'd have to go with Halo 2. Half Life 2 has great animation and very innovative gameplay, but the shooting side of things was extremely dull and I didn't care for the story much. A dissapointment after the original in all respects except visuals obviously. Prime 2 was very deep and had great graphics for its time but it bored me very quickly. However I really don't consider it an FPS series at all. Halo 2 fell short of the first but it was the most enjoyable out of the above to play (even offline).
Halo 2 did not feel like a massive jump from the first game, but then again neither did Prime 2. Prime 2 however offered new gameplay elements, such as the dark world and the different weapon elements, while Halo 2 added a few new weapons and was a very popular online title. Metroid Prime 1 I enjoyed more than HL2 however, but this isn't about that, so I won't go there...

Well I've actually only played the demo of Half-Life 2 (Only because it doesn't run very well on my computer)but it was very different from what I played. Both the puzzle element and the shooting element is very different. Mostly people should stop comparing it to Halo though.

There are not many "puzzles" in Half Life 2. Most of them are just one solution, physics-based ones that are incredibly simple to figure out. When I first played Half Life 2, I was expecting there to be more of those puzzles. Thankfully, Portal is coming soon.

Prime might technically be an FPS, but it's not really, and isn't really comparable to the other games. It offers pnly a single-player story which features a large free-roaming world to explore and you have to backtrack and pick up upgrades. H/L & Halo r completely different.

Halo 2 wasn't in the same league as those other two games for what they wanted to accomplish. Obviously Halo's mp kills Prime's mp, but Prime was never meant to be a mp powerhouse. Half-Life owns both of those games in both areas, so it's the clear winner to me.

Metroid Prime is not a FPS. Even Gamespot says so.

There is no comparison between Half Life 2/Halo 2 and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, aside from how much you enjoyed them as games and their overall value.
