it is the most complete game ever! sweet single player, multiplayer, 4 player coop, saved films + screenshots, forge :D

Absolutely not. It's short and offers little challenge.
Its also highly generic, an almost carbon copy in terms of environments and enemies as its predecessors, has graphics that are not up to part with top tier games this generation and has a completely bland and uninteressting story.
On the plus side the music to the Halo series has always been fantastic.
Not only does it have amazing gameplay , amazing online, best art style everNOODLES_07

only good looking games this gen are
Halo 3, gears,cod3,4 and uncharted

COD 3 ?! really. I would definately fit, Ratchet and Clank, Crysis, Mass Effect, and Bioshock in there and take out Halo 3 and Gears.
[QUOTE="Lonelynight"]Then why didn't it beat Crysis for SOTY? Or get the X360 game of the year?mingo123
whats SOTY? **** of the year?
Shooter of the Year
**** of the year goes to Ninja bread man

Why Gears of War?
I'ts a year and a half old now, it has definitely been long outdone at this stage.1. Play more games.
2. Its art style is average. Its vehicle design is great, as is some of its character designs, but its art style blows compared to many games out there.
3. It didnt even get FPS Goty. Let alone any GOTYs. not saying its bad, but that is a clear indication of how it shaped up next to many games last year.

Oh and its singler player blows compared to many games even with 4 player co-op, although its multiplayer is fantastic.
The replay feature is pretty good, as is image uploading, although Forge totally blows and lacks the potential it could have reached.
Come to think of it dont get me started on the singleplayer...
i think the online is extremely good. trully well balanced and a lot of fun.
The single player was extremely mediocre though. the art style is meh, but the texturing was very well done imo.
People look horrible and so does foliage

LOL, did you play the 4-player co-op on normal with no skulls or something? Because if that was the case then I could see what you said being true. The single player mode was fantastic, good AI, a good story, a epic ending, some pretty good level design, co-op, online co-op, skulls, some real replay value, overall the single player was very good. And anyway, if you are looking for a lengthy challenge then Legendary is beckoning you to play it by yourself, or with friends + skulls (how many skulls depends on how many people you are playing with).

I played 2 player co-op the day my cousin got it,I'm pretty sure it was on the highest difficulty. We beat the game in a few hours. The game is short. It was also very easy. I could have done it alone without breaking a sweat. I might die a few times, but that's not the point. The strong point of Halo has never been its single player modes, imo(and I think the majority's opinion as well, but I could be wrong). The multiplayer is fun and I'm not denying that. I just don't think there's anything stand-out about the game's campaign.

Well that's your opinion, and you are entitled to it, but would you mind telling me what FPS you think has a stand-out campaign?
The singleplayer player was increadably flawed, and one of the weakest aspects of the game, especially compared to its strong multiplayer.LOL, did you play the 4-player co-op on normal with no skulls or something? The Story was appaling - not only was it told abysmally, it was almost non existant as your progressed through the game, and featured some of the worst dialouge, characters and cutscenes featured in such a high profile game. Not to mention the only interesting character, who was not two dimensional - the Arbiter was turned into a mindless stupid bot. Oh the ending sucked. There I said it. It answered no questions, and featured two poor 'twists'. Heck the final sequance might of well been an interactive cutscene. Did look pretty though.
Which now brings me to the a.i. The Enemy A.i is decent, but increadably flawed. While they do surprise now and again (brutes sometimes flank, and grunts do that cool suicide thing), at long range they are pathetic, and alot of the time they simply run head on - particularly the brutes, or waddle left and right. The friendly a.i is pathetic. Seriously. Not only do the humans compeltely suck - they cant drive, run head on to enemies, blow themselves up with grenades, cant shoot straight while in mounted turrets and cant drive - the Arbiters a.i is one of the worst examples of companion a.i i have ever seen. Its no wonder that he has unlimited respawns. Then look at the fantastic companion a.i that is Alyx - who is probably the best in any game, and it makes you wonder why Bungie didnt put more work into it.
The level deign was simply a mixed bag. Some levels were well designed (i.e the Covenant) but most were from bad to downright **** house. Not to mention that many of the levels were increadably drab and uninspired. Recycling locations from the previous games, and presenting possibly the most drab example of earth under alien occuption ever. And the one interesting level - Cortana turned out to be the worst designed. Heck dont get me started on the backtracking, recycling, and choke points.
Skulls was a good idea though, and while the 4 player co-op is fun, it doesent improve the campaigns flaws, and it causes the frame rate to fluctuate badly. There are simply alot of games out there with 4 player co-op plus modes (added) that are so much better.
Phew.
Not saying the game is bad, but jeesh that singleplayer was poor. To think I was so hyped for it just as a I started playing it..
Hype certainly does have a strong effect on ones view of a game. It was only until I played through the game again, after beating it on Heroic - after buying it on launch day did I really realise how flawed the SP was.
 Im sorry, but this game is nothing compared to Bioshock or Crysis or COD4.
Broken Melee, medicore graphics, 4 hour single player with linear path ways, and the art style? what art style? Sorry, this game is over rated by far, even though its still a great game. I give my hats off for its online play, but thats it.
I never used to like fps. I owned a ps1 - no shooters , ps2 - gta was the closest, wii - traded in red steal but halo 3 on my 360 is ownage.
Best game of the gen. Yes so far. Im not a fan boy as ive never had ahalo game before but i really do love it. Its no perfect but yes my fav of the gen so far.
Isn't CoD4's single player about 4 hours? Im sorry, but this game is nothing compared to Bioshock or Crysis or COD4.

Must say COD4s is much better - even though it has its own flaws - mainly choke points, and a few dull repedative levels.
amazing art stlye? have you played bioshock? amazig online? have you played COD4. im a 360 man but even I dont think Halo 3 was the best game this gen, it was certainly the most hyped game ever releasedthegoldenpoo
