And by roughly 1 million, he means usually 700-800k. ;)II-FBIsniper-II
Even when your trying to play it down..that's still more than any other console game.
Expect halo to bump down to #2 when MW2 comes out and we'll hear people going on about it. Come next year when Halo: Reach is coming halo 3 will be #1 again only to ever be trumped by Reach.

Why wouldn't you expect that when ODST comes out?

Not trying to downplay it, just calling it like I see it. I'm gonna  if when MW2 comes out their is going to be three COD games on the top ten.And by roughly 1 million, he means usually 700-800k. ;)II-FBIsniper-IIEven trying to make it look worse do you realize how many developers dream to have even those numbers 2 years after the game was released. KZ2 was released 6 months ago and I am sure it does not get those numbers
Only one million? Fail.IronBassWhy? A game this old surpasses almost all the other online games that have recently come out ;).
http://au.xbox360.ign.com/articles/101/1013671p1.html "At a recent Bungie press event, Bungie's Brian Jarrard offered a little clarity. Nearly two years after its release, there are still roughly 1 million unique Halo 3 players every day. That's greater than the population of San Francisco." It's 2 years old, and still has a million unique players on a daily basis! this guarantees Halo 3: ODST will have 1 million+ opening day. for the PS fans, this game used to be the one that was "killed" by cod 4. lol. Halo 3s the king!DamageDamage
i wonder how many of those are 12 year old kids that talk trash and cry on their mic (halo 3 voted worst online community by xbox360 users lol)
since cod 4 came out it has more online user than halo 3 the only time halo 3 has a spike in users is when a map pack comes out
but i could be wrong since lemmings will live and die by their halo 2 engine with amazing hdr lighting (not bashing as its prob the besthdr lighting for any console game)

It sold 10 million. So only one in ten people find the game worth playing?tenaka2On a daily basis. daily. That means 1 in 10 people play a 2 year old game. That's awesome.

Just accept that it's a lot of people and move on. What are you even trying to accomplish here? There's no way to make this accomplishment seem "bad" because it's not. It's good.

How is it unrelated? Topic is about an old game having lots of users?tenaka2Comparing an MMO to a FPS? A PC game to a console? A subscription game to a regular? A constantly updated and massaged and expansioned game to a relatively standalone, save for a few maps? The fact that you think they can be compared boggles the mind. Not to mention that WoW can only be played online, whereas all 10 million copies of Halo 3 could be being played, just not all online.

It's a typical Cow strategy to hide behind the PC.
Hey while we're at it, oh solitaire and minesweeper has more too.
Halo 3 could have these kind of figures for the next year and Cows still couldn't accept it.

It's as if i would question the sales of WoW, and then someone would correct me with nice facts and i'd try to make up for me being wrong by thinking it's little and comparing it to Wii sports or Tetris. just accept that it's good numbers. and you can happily name any other FPS that has 1 million unique daily players on online each day.
Not, it does not. CS is especially popular on LAN, not over online internet.counter strike has more than that

Bad try at trying to spin this into a joke, really!Unique? lol. If you play Halo3 everyday with other players that do also, you are the same.

halo is a good game....that's why xbox360 only owner are always busy playing it all the time & never go to SW, while ps3 only owner are start to get bored with their killzone, MGS, Warhawk so they're going to SW and make a bad comment about xbox360, Halo 3, Gears of war
anyway congratulation bungie...that's impressive for 2 years old game...i can't imagine when ODST come out...firefight looks fun

Halo 3s the king!tenaka2It sold 10 million. So only one in ten people find the game worth playing? Um... Yeah, daily. That's a huge deal. Playing the same video game every single day. Sure it's not necessarily the exact people, but when you take that into account, that's even more impressive. Since then you get even more unique users per week. I don't play it daily, I play it once every week or so.
Therefore, the numbers are much higher than a million out of ten million. And these numbers are beyond any other online game that I know of, in consistency, I'm sure some online games spike into this area, but not with this kind of consistency.
yes so true i can't never get bored on playing halo it just keeps getting better now Odst is coming can't wait for that!Yup, Halo3 is just that awesome. It's still my favorite FPS this gen. :)

I dont think any other online game than WoW has a higher number, though I could be wrong.[QUOTE="tmgwarrior72"]Not, it does not. CS is especially popular on LAN, not over online internet. 800,000 uniques played Counter-Strike 1.6 in the past 24 hours on public servers; over 500,000 played Counter-Strike: Source.counter strike has more than that
