You think that Halo is the only game that does this?
Whenever new players come to Guild Wars that are more experienced with WoW, they always ask where the mailbox is or when they can get a mount.
It's not just Halo players that do this, so in all seriousness, stop whining. They're free kills to you so why are you complaining?
[QUOTE="dracula_16"]CoD4 is doing much more damage to the industry than Halo 3. 5 hour single player game with no multiplayer achievements. :lol:Udsen
It has a ranking system with unlockable weapons and add-ons.
...Dude.
It's also half as short as normal FPS's.

Call of Duty is mainly played for the multiplayer experience, which is awesome.
Yeah, the campaign is short.
But to say it's damaging the industry for not having achievements? Are you SERIOUS?

Yes I'm serious. This is not something to joke about.
I play COD4 online a lot and you can tell whenever a Halo fanaticplays this game just by how they play. Everyone once in awhile I always see another player jumping around like they are on a pogo stick: Halo gameplay at it's finest. Unlike Halo you can't jump 10 feet in the air in order to avoid on onslaught of bullets. I notice players trying to do this on more and more games nowadays.BumFluff122
When I play Quake 3, people jump around all over the place. That killed FPS gaming too, right?

That's more of a test of patience than skill. I'm not saying it takes no skill to beat COD4 on veteran, but when you have to trudge through infinite respawning enemies then it's torture. It's the reason why i gave up on COD2.
What you're saying is a joke. I just feel like punching my monitor LOL.

Seek some Anger Management appointments.
Ok perhapos I was a little premature about saying Halo specifically did this. However I am mainly a fan of more realistic shooters (Ones where yoru charcter isn;t jumping all over the place to avoid bullets being lobbed at you). When these charcters come into a shooter based more on realism than an arcady FPS I'm sure it pissed a few of the fans of realistic shooters off. That is why I enjoy the gameplay of Gears of War with it's duck and cover system. And what's with this '50 shots in the head and still alright' mentality that game makers of these types of games are employing?BumFluff122ppl have been using the jumping thing all the way back in half life 1 days and even earlier.... the fact that you blamed this on halo only shows how little you know about FPSs...

Notice how he said feels like, but didn't? Sounds like proper anger management to me.

However I mainly attribute the love of this mode of gameplay on the 360 specifically to Halo 3. Why you ask? In my time of online gaming with Halo 3 all everyone did was jump. A person starts shooting at you? Oh it's time to jump! Everyoen did it and I am fairly certain everyone still does it in the game. Halo 3 is the biggest game thus far on any of the consoles and it trollops every other shooter in sales. So yes, I think Halo 3 plays a very large roll of this type of gameplay, it is how the online multiplayer portion of this game is suppose to be played. Why else would the developers allow you to jump 10 feet in the air from a standstill?

1. I seriously doubt you have played Halo 3. And if you did you must have played on easy because the average on anything other than easy is 10 to 15 hours. And atleast Halo 3 has co-op to help add some re-play value to the campaign.
2. that's a matter of opinion, personally, I couldn't even bring myself to finish CoD4's campaign. Not one interesting thing happened the entire time I played (well, other than the nuke).
You're really stretching it on this one.
People always jumped in CS too when I used to play it. Did that ruin the genre as well?

That was when bunny hoping worked.. Now its absolutely dumb.. Not only does it make you immensely inaccurate but it slows you down.
