Halo 3 overhyped, not worth buying a 360

...just to be replaced by another guys broken console that will break again... I think I will skip the MIGHTY HALO 3. I dont care so much if M$ sells more, I just want the best reliable console and the most advanced games. Yes you can call me a F A N B O Y, but I think I am very honest here.

Then I'll worry about Halo 3, I don't mind waiting. I'm a big fan of Halo but there's so much other quality out there already.

TC is on point with this H3 is overly hyped, although i do think it will move units .....

Halo is the only reason I bought a 360. (Bioshock looks awesome too)

Is it me or Halo 3 and the two game before are very overhyped. I mean, they are good games (I finished 1 and 2), but often the interior level design is so poor that you don't even know where you were coming from and where you are going to after an intense fight where you had to turn and run around. To save time and money, the level designers mirrored the rooms etc... I seen the graphics of the demo of halo 3 and I think it's far (maybe far is a litlle strong here) from other videos I seen from E3 (most of the PS3 exclusives). It looks like Haze (wich is PS3 exclusive for 2007) fall in the same category and it's head and shoulders above Halo 3... and Haze to my opinion feels a lot inferior to metal gear.

I planned to buy an X-BOX 360 because I was a real X-box"1" fan, but to get a Halo 3 that is inferior to the competition (((not in sales, I know people will buy and appreciate the game by milions even if the other games are better))), and get a console that will die in a couple of months, just to be replaced by...

The first two Halo games were great games with multiplayer that is still a lot of fun, maybe they are a bit overrated (but so is anything hyped to be one of the best best games, movies, books, or anything else ever)

however even if Halo 3 is not reason enough to buy a 360 there are:

Mass Effect, Bioshock, GTAIV, Eternal Sonata, Gears of War, Rock Band, Oblivion, Forza 2, GRAW, GRAW 2, Dead Rising, Lost Planet, Guitar Hero 2, Guitar Hero 3, Call of Duty 2/3/4, Kameo, Bioshock, Assassin's Creed, Geometry Wars, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Blacksite: Area 51, War World, Half-Life 2: Orange Box, Ace Combat 6, Alan Wake Beautiful Katamari, Virtua Fighter 5, Mercenaries 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Resident Evil 5, Devil May Cry 4

in addition to Halo 3 that makes for a pretty decent lineup imo

But really Halo3 probably won't sell more than a million or so 360s. You people have got to realize who has been buying 360s this last year and a half - HALO FANS. It's not like no one is aware this game is coming out... and with nothing to do on Xbox for the last 2 years you can damned well bet they've all already bought 360s and have been playing the games it already has.

Dude, a lot of people are still holding out for a price drop or a Halo 3 bundle. Not all Halo fans have got one, unless you were bought into the Gears hype.

I wouldn't have bought one if my brother didn't want to play Gears. And I've heard way too many people say they haven't played the Halo 3 Beta yet simply because they didn't get a 360.

Before saying that Halo 1 is overrated, consider when it came out and what all the games before it were like. Halo had an excellent mix of gameplay, graphics, story and was also one of the first console first person shooters of that generation to nail down the control scheme. Halo truely was revolutionary for console first person shooters.

That said, I do feel that in the end, Halo 2 was overhyped. The campaign did drag through the arbiter levels for me, and Chief with only covenant weapons wasn't too great either. But the multiplayer was a blast so all is forgiven :)
