HALO 4 ANNOUNCEMENT INCOMING!!!!!!!! Wooooottt!!!!!!!!!

Halo 4? Yeah, you read that title right. A Microsoft employee and member of 343 Industries, has indicated that Halo 4 is well under development.

Here's an ad found on Microsoft's 343 Industries website: "343 Industries, Microsoft's internal Halo studio, is looking for a an experienced Missions Designer who can design and build missions for our next big project." They are also looking for a Senior Character Artist to work on a "new experience in the Halo Universe". The chosen candidates will "play a significant role in establishing and maintaining the vision for both new and redefined characters, levels and missions."

And here's a quote from Frank O' Connor, director of Microsoft's 343 Industries.

"Ultimately the core game mechanic and strength of the universe doesn't need to be changed, it just needs to be taken deeper. We want to make Halo games-dont' want to make Call of Duty or Ridge Racer. We want to make Halo games because we understand what's special about Halo."

Interesting. I just rented Halo Reach so I will be playing that next week. If I enjoyed Halo Reach, I may give Halo 4 a try. Though isn't Halo Reach technically Halo 4? :PMr_Cumberdale

I think its pretty clear that Halo is microsoft's big cash cow so they would be stupid to let it go. That being said, Halo 4 wasn't spelled out exactly, the new title could simply be a new game set in the halo universe.

Both of you are worng... REACH is a prequel and it's not numbered, that's it.

If we were going for what you guys said, Cumberdale, RE:CVX would've been RE4, but wait there was a RE4 after that.

And ShadowDeathX, if that was the case MGS3 would've been MGS0, but it's actually MGS3.

After the abomination that is Reach, I'm glad Bungie is done with Halo. They took the best competitive FPS on Xbox and turned it into a CoD clone.

and it's the same company that made the series what it is....people will still miss bungie even if reach didnt live up to everyone's standards

Since Bungie lost a few people to 343i I think it will be good

I am curious to see how it will be. Im really glad that bungie is off the helm. Now there is opportunity for the series to actually evolve or at least do something differently.

this "developer" has "developed" next to nothing since its founding, but im not too worried. I really dont care if the next halo game is a total abomination. The series is already dead to me, so there isnt much on the line, in my eyes. plus, it couldnt be as bad as ODST.

Yeah me too. The CoD style ranking system completely destroyed the competitive nature that had been established in Halo 2 and 3. Not to mention things like bloom and armor abilities which have absolutely no place in a Halo game. And dont get me started on the horrible maps (im talking about the maps Reach launched with, I quit playing before the map packs).

exactly, halo was an awsome shooter for very competitive play, except for reach

Random Bloom and Armour Ablities mainly. It's still very competitive. Just, some of those things make the game slightly random and unbalanced. Although the better team will usually win which is good.

I hope 343 does well with this series. I loved Reach, so i'm hoping for a solid SP campaign (and naturally, good MP).

You mean halo 6.

At this point I just don't care about halo anymore, unless they do some kind of crazy re-imagining of the universe.

I never really enjoyed playing Halo competitively though. Just not my style. Just Halo for some reason though. :/
