In the many hours of gameplay I've put into Halo 4 in the past few days, I can't help but to feel incredibly underwhelmed. The story was lacklaster and dull, and the game just feels like such a generic first person shooter. Halo 4 fails to breathe any new life into this genre what so ever, recycling the same old gameplay that may have been groundbreaking eleven years ago, but now the mechanics are so stale up to this point. This series need to go into a radical new direction as does the entire FPS genre, every FPS now a days is a COD hybrid. The reasoning why I compare it to Haze is because I felt the same amount of disappointment after I hyped and then played Haze. Here was this promising new FPS from the developers of Timesplitters and Goldeneye, and Free Radical runs the thing into the ground. 343 has managed to do the same exact thing to Halo 4. Someone get me a time machine and bring me back to 2002, when shooters were actually good.
