Apparently the Halo DS pitch wasn't done by Bungie, and there's nothing official in development at this point... just an interesting tidbit:

M$ trying to make a buck on other consoles....makes sense. After being 5 BILLION in the hole, it's time to try something different, even if it's a little obvious you need the cash.

If this works, maybe Sony will bring God of War to PC or something....but Nintendo and Sony do seem to have more pride than that.

Sega did stuff like this too, with Crazy Taxi on PS2, etc.

judging by your near 10,000 posts, i think you already know this. but MS has money. they arent, and never will be "in the hole" ms's Xbox division may not be profitting but 5 billion to ms is pocket change.

its not about how much money u have. ms is a publicly traded company they cant just toss money down the drain , its the law to make the most money you can for the stock holder. everytime they dump a load of money they have to anser to a heap of pissed off holders . i dont like how ms has tryed to take the gaming biz . they just want more power. gaming should be led by a gaming company .

Who knows - Halo was on Apple computers, and GeoW is coming to both Windows and Apple PC. Microsoft puts their games out there. However, we have two Bungie developers saying "we don't know anything about it" essentially here, so if it was really coming from Bungie, they're keeping their mouth shut. Another issue is if it's coming from someone else... do you really want a Halo contracted out to someone else? Would Halo work on the DS? For me, it wouldn't work as an FPS, and the multiplayer aspect is what I"m into.

However, the informal interview here seems to dispute IGN - we'll see what develops.

Matt just says its hap[pening so much he can't be lying, you know it like saying GeOW2 will come out in 08 and then saying NOT! and everyone takes out a gun to kill you.

Mabye Bungie is keeping quite cause they don't to tick off the lems. yet.

Oh, yeah. It's nothing to them. THe Xbox Division does have to answer to shareholders, and the bottomline is they are in it for money, and if this venture isn't profitable, then what's the point. We are in year 7. However, Year 8, M$ did say they should start making money, but that was before the 3 year warranty deal.

Its true that yes MS has to answer to shareholders howeve, MS realizes that control of the gaming industry means control of a market bigger than movies and music and growing. MS is looking long term, loosing a few billion now could mean billions down the road. MS has stated that this is a multi generation effort so obviuosly they arent pulling out anytime soon

I think it would be a cold day and a hot place before something like this would ever see the light of day. but still would be cool though!
