Halo DS proof. Vids, Pics and kotaku story inside.

IGN's Matt Casamassina couldn't take it anymore. After seeing that both our own Luke Plunkett and the mighty Wikipedia had questioned the existence of the fabled Halo DS, something snapped inside of him. Storming the halls of IGN, he hacked the company's master computer (password: kotakurulez) and uploaded assets from the game onto the web. And then, in a cocktease sure to break the hearts of fanboys everywhere, he stated:

Let's be clear. This game will never see the light of day. At the same time, the below videos prove that Halo DS wasn't a garage project by a two-man team. There were some very big names involved with this title, so it's a shame you won't get to play it.

Not to sound lame but I always believed. Why would he put his neck out on the line with a crazy rumor like that if it wasnt true.

It does make sense anyway. MS is putting all types of games on the DS. Mech Assualt. Viva Pinata. and even Rare developed games. So Halo DS wasnt SO much of a stretch.

Matt is more credible than half the editors out there.

jeeze... if anything releasing this would be good for MS, cause, this might have popularized halo in japan.. so they would go out and buy the real console version, why oh why couldnt this have happenedwalkerctranger

They said that the game was a very early MP only build. They probably didn't get around to getting vehicles to work before the project was scrapped.

i want everyone to watch the video and afterwards, play/watch a vid of Goldeneye: Rogue Agent.

you guys will see why it has dual-weapon wielding. check out the menu of the supposedly "Halo DS" and Goldeneye.

don't forget to listen carefully for the sounds. especially the annoying sound when you're about to die and the sound the enemy makes when they are being shot.

even if you guys say its an early build, it didn't look like you could jump on the game, just like Goldeneye.

and just look at the screenshots. you can completely tell its a modded version of Goldeneye.

Releasing Halo on a system that already has 50million units sold? Yeah, that'd be insane. That's twice the possible purchasers over the original Xbox, and 4x the current 360user base.

This is one of the "screw with your mind" type scenarios. Too bad we can only imagine what it would be like... cry.

In addition to what you said, The death animations are the same, even for the player when he dies, he falls back looking up the same way.

But anyway, it looks cool, I'd like to see it released someday.

Whether this is actually being made or not, the fact is FPS suck on the DS. In my opinion, anyway. MP:H was bad, and I wouldn't expect a portable version of Halo to be any good either. Impex

If you know how to use it, it's just as accurate as keyboard and mouse controls. Literally.
