Halo Infinite developer concedes - the community is out of patience

Most overhyped game of all time!!! 6 years of development then delayed by a year, season 2 delayed even further and next to no new content in season 1. And they still need way more time for a solid stream of content.

Community director Brian 'ske7ch' Jarrard posted to a reply to a Reddit user who said they wished 343 Industries would acknowledge that there have been issues that are delaying progress on new features for the game.

"There are indeed a lot of challenges and constraints," Jarrard responded. "We're certainly not happy to be unable to meet player and community expectations, it's a difficult situation that's going to take the team time to work through.

"Right now the focus is on Season 2 and we'll have more to share on that in the coming weeks. Meanwhile a lot of production planning, costing, planning, hiring, etc. is all happening which doesn't really lend to detailed regular updates.

"We understand the community is simply out of patience and frankly, I think understandably tired of words. We just need some time for the team to get the details sorted and then we can certainly share as much as we can."

I am actually fine them not doing too much more to the game just get cracking away at the next one. They should certainly make the MP fun and add more modes especially a PvE mode but don't just keep hammering away at Halo Infinite expecting a massive reversal in the online player count trajectory.

Here's a good idea though, just don't go open world next time. And don't add a abilities progression system either. The 4 player co-op linesr campaigns of previous games worked, keep it that way. I'd be perfectly fine myself if they took the Halo 5 game build assets and crafted a new game with them.

Look at it this way. Not a single person on SW plays the game. Not even one.

The game was developed by a cringy developer. But then again, after you see how atrocious the Halo show is, its like the game tried to be on par or something. 6/10 title, and this is being incredibly generous.

As a fan of the first 3 Halos, it is beyond me why Lemmings can't accept the fact that this is did not live up to our expectations. Not only was it NOT a 9, it was a 6/10. Journos are clearly paid shills. Same with Deathloop and Elden Ring.

I watched a few reviews from angryjoe and this dude. And just from their first trailer you could tell that this is not what Halo is supposed to be, but more of a Halo4-Halo5 kind of a corny shitfest. The dev doesn't know how to develop a Halo game. The production studio in charge of the show is as bad. Halo is such a boned series.

The haters are attacking it because they changed some characters around from the books, and that it has things like "a story" and "plot development", and that every episode isn't 60 minutes of combat.

Mark my words, the opinions of it will improve as the season moves along.

The thing is, most if not all Halo Infinite players on this forum has moved on for months now. We know that 343 dropped the ball ages ago(more specifically a year ago) and we know they will continue to do so. The only folks who talk about this game as if it has any meaningful relevance are Sony fannies.

It's why MS bought Activision. They knew before Halo released that the game was going to have problems. It can't compete with Fortnite, COD, Overwatch, and all the other live service games. At its core Halo is fun, but it's time to recognize its time in the spotlight is over, and Halo is now going the way of Unreal tournament. Popular back in the day, highly influential, but outdated and past its prime.

This game could've been what everyone talks about, just like Elden Ring. Instead, since day one, the only talk of the game you'll see on reddit and elsewhere is their outrageous mtx pricing and no content. I think this game was made for the desperate Halo fan that would play anything with Halo on the box. For someone who expects quality, its just not for them, and if you look at everyone who left within a few weeks, its clear that this game is for nobody with standards and expectations.

Halo is in a sad state. You know. I know it. We accept this being the case.

Success is measured by the number of Game Pass subscribers. That is until the new PS+ Programs start. I’m not sure how we’ll measure success after that. Can’t use hardware or software sales. Revenue. Active users. Twitch viewership. Basically if there’s a metric, we can’t use it…

Gonna be totally honest…

I was hyped for Halo Infinite and it died after a month for me. I got bored, tired, moved onto other games. In fact, I now main my PS5 and I’m loving it. Halo Infinite was meant to overtake Apex, Warzone, etc, it was meant to be a top tier multiplayer game for years to come. It just didn’t live up to those expectations. One of my best friends is a big Halo fan, I hyped it up for him, he hated it. He had to wait to come back from Kuwait (Air Force) to play it. I was in shock and awe that he didn’t like Infinite. Absolutely mind blown when he told me he thought it sucked. Said it shouldn’t be canon, just like the TV show.

While I liked Infinite, I couldn’t stomach the multiplayer anymore. It’s just not the one. I don’t think Halo will ever be where it was in its glory days. However, it was very nice to see it was popular for a brief moment in time again. I guess Dr. Disrespect was right, that the game wouldn’t survive a month without battle royale.
