same completed all 4 games on legendary and it adds loads to the experience. heroic is at least how they should be played otherwise people throw around cr*p like "its only 4 hours long"

its too hard for some people but i like the challenge and halo 1 was still the hardest on legendary imo, heroic should be the default and they should get rid of easy all together

Exactly. I always play Halo games on Heroic difficulty (solo), but why does Bungie recommend playing on Heroic if they are going to have a difficulty called "Normal"? Playing the game on Legendary doesn't make it any better. For me, it just made it even more obvious how little the differences are between playing as MC and an ODST.
I played it through on Heroic the first time. I agree with the description in the game which says 'the way it's meant to be played'. I dont get why people play on normal or lower. On Halo that is. On other games normal does me just fine. :P

Playing the game on Legendary doesn't make it any better. For me, it just made it even more obvious how little the differences are between playing as MC and an ODST. They recommend playing on Heroic because it offers an almost perfect level of 'challenge'. You dont storm through the whole game without dying, but at the same time you dont die every five seconds and curse at the screen. I think for the casual gamer though, heroic is probably too hard and that's why they have normal and easy below it. And for a very popular game like Halo being bought and played by a lot of people who would consider themselves casual gamers, easier difficulty levels are a must. 'Normal' should not be confused with 'recommended'. A game's 'normal' difficulty doesn't mean that's the one you should play it at. And i agree with the comment about the differences between ODSTs and MC. It's an awesome game from a gameplay/storytelling perspective, but if you care at all about the Halo universe and the story they've developed over the last three games (and the books), bungie pretty much ignored their own cannon which is always disappointing. Master chief accidentally killed three ODSTs when they pick a fight with him, and that wasn't even wearing his armour. Yet in the game, ODST's can flip over tanks, jump crazy high and seem to operate with exactly the same murderous efficiency as the chief. I guess it was a side-project for bungie, and as such they couldn't go drastically altering the game engine to change all the gameplay mechanics, but a little more effort than 'you now have a health bar and cant duel wield' would have been nice.

My bad. Apparently for someone reason I have "show user sginatures off" in my options. Now I can see people's sigs lol
But yes I do own a PS3. I also own a Wii, a DS and a Gaming PC. Only reason I do not own a 360 is because I just bought the 360. Once I get enough money I'll get the 360 and more than likely beat the whole Halo series.
So no I'm definitely not a cow or a fanboy of anything for that matter. I just find it's kind of obvious what primusgears is doing.

the defualt for most modern games lately for a more experienced crowd seems to be the notch right below the most difficult setting. In Halo's case Heroic.
No wonder the definitive FPS gets AAAE, the game is insane and im over 8 hours in on Legendary.....

im not sure if game reviewers play the game on the hardest setting when they review. anyways pretty much any game is hard on the highest difficulty setting.
the games good, but i want A versus mode using the odst weapons + you are fighting as odst soldiers not MC's. I mean seriously how could they leave this out, this and match making.
You can say that to a lot of games played on highest difficulty and done in co-op...that why i can't wait for Borderlands and btw ODST is the worst of the serie by far.
