Halo ODST more than an expansion

I was pleased with what this game is going to feature and how it looks. It seems like a completely new halo to me. A really involved campaign mode in what they say is the biggest environment they've ever had in a halo game. It's also a very different setting and story and has a different feel to it. The graphics look updated quite a bit. You basically get all halo 3 multiplayer maps updated for odst, plus the downloadable ones and firefight which is like horde mode in gears 2. It's not halo 4, but it is more than I was expecting. I would go as far to say Halo ODST is not an expansion. It expands on the halo universe but it's a standalone game.

i thought the reaction it got at the confrence was very luke warm, the crowd didnt seem pumped for that or H:R. I must say after seeing a vid for it i wasnt shift into thinking anythingmore thant his game bein average

It is still halo is it not? you would think any halo fps would get a good reaction, whether it is based on the storyline or not. Just like Mario, Zelda or Metroid games because its what they are.

Sad that is just an expansion, even worse is that is going to be 60 bucks (correct me if im wrong but that is what I understood by "Full retail value")

not at all. the campaign is huge and is taking a totally different angle. plus firefight. It's not just graphics. I just look at the complete package and think it's it's own game. If you say you see no improvements you are blind. Watch halo 3 vids and look at odst and tell me it doesn't look quite a bit better.

You can consider it a expansion all you like, but the fact is, its a different storyline with new characters. Same world just different people. Im looking forward to it to see how it plays out. Also seeing it from someone elses view instead of the master chief is a nice change.

I am excited Halo ODST, and I have never been excited about a Halo game before. For one reason only: New character, means new story. Master Chief is probably THE dumbest character in video game history, and Halo 1-3's story is just bad.

It uses the same engine as halo 3 so it can't look much better which is sad since halo 3 looks like **** even by the standards when it was released. I'm sorry, i like my xbox 360 as much as my ps3 or more and i play halo 3 often but its graphics aren't it strong point. Anyway, i feel cheated by bungie who wants me to pay 60 bucks for something which is clearly an expansion for a game with mediocre graphics, it should cost at most 30. I look foward to games such as alan wake and forza 3, halo odst not so much.

The graphics,gameplay...almost everything from the E3`s footage looked exactly the same as all the old Halos.When in the world is Halo going to do something revolutionary or creative ?

Why do people like you always need to comment on things they are uninformed about. You obviously didn't watch any interviews or read any articles about HALO ODST, so why give your uneducated opinion about it.... you could have just said I don't like Halo and I don't see my opinion changing with this one.... at least you would have made sense, and not come off as a fanboy.

Anyway, now that that's out of the way. Halo ODST from what I've gathered from info @ E3, is that the main Hub World is open ala. GTA, Infamous etc. and you find objects throughout the city, that will throw you into the shoes of the ODST who that item is connected to.... like the "Bridge lvl" they showed.... the ODST found the remains of the charge in the city and then it cuts away to (and you play) what happened there only hours b4 you arrived.... showing you basically what happened to a number of different ODST's that were seperated during the drop.

Also the idea of having the City AI assist you is a neat idea also....

I gotta disagree with the TC on 1 thing though..... graphics look the same to me. Not a complaint, just an observation.

HALO ODST does not take place b4 Halo3.... it takes place during the same time frame. Halo: Reach is the prequel to the Halo Series.

This games graphics look worse then Halo 3's. The AI looks retarded (way worse then Halo 3) and the glowing hud is annoying.

If I were to rate what I seen from the gameplay footage I would give it a 7.0.

Yeah I would consider it a full game. I think it just comes with an expansion to Halo 3 (Disc 2)

They should make it $60 for the game with the Halo 3 maps and a $30 version of the game without the maps, so people who already have the maps aren't paying for somethign they already own.
