Yeah, I was a bit disappointed. I was just as hyped as everyone else when I saw the footage. The only difference is, I don't have a 360. I was truly hoping that it'd look truly amazing, because I heard something about a new engine. Not saying it doesn't look good. Just not what others are hyping it to be.
(Yeah I know there's still a long time till release)
The graphics look good to me and the is not out yet so the graphics could improve between now and when the game is released
Meaning fugly as sin. I'm playing Halo 3 right now with a borrowed 360 while my ps3 is down (ylod) and my god is Halo 3 fugly. It has to be one of the ugliest next gen games I have seen and to think this is a top tier production from MS and Bungie. The game is full of jaggies, low poly characters, low res textures, average lighting, and so so effects.im sure it will look great just like Halo 3 did
VendettaRed07
Not a fanboy......BUT I loved Halo 2 for the gameplay, which is what made the game so badazz. Halo was never about graphicsmetal-movement
Both Halo and Halo 2 were console graphic kings when they were released.

Is MS talking about Halo reach, or Alan Wake? Cause Alan Wake would make more sense. I mean just look at the demo compared to Halo Reach trailerim sure it will look great just like Halo 3 did

yup couldnt agree more,
But thats the thing, fans shouldnt hype this game on graphics, instead they should do so on its gameplay, as halo games have been always very fun .Ribnarak
All Bungie has to do is work on their storytelling, and I'll be sold. I haven't been a fan of Halo since Combat Evolved, and it's simply do to the fact that Halo 2/3 has the most boring campaign I have ever played. There's no emotion, I don' feel like I accomplish anything, and it just seems to be there as filler.
The only thing I liked out of campaign was Halo 3, where you fight the two Scarabs at once (only epic part I can recall). I haven't had a chance to play ODST yet, and I'm crossing my fingers that the storytelling is more interesting in that game.

I also remember cows saying halo wouldn't look good based off the beta.. look how that turned out... btw my obligatory lvl 1, 4 posts comment.

thats funny, did u forget the time when u had4 posts?.
No.. but then again I wasn't making threads on SW the day I joined GS and I doubt many of us where.

I'll give you jaggies and some textures, but the lighting and environmental textures are actually very good.
The marine faces were a mess though.
I hope you realized there's a Halo: Reach sticky. But I guess I can expect that from a lvl 1, 6 post noob account93soccerI created an account because I wanted answers. Is there something wrong with that?
Sorry. Halo 3 looked nothing like the Trailer.Uhh besides some AA halo 3 looked pretty much identical to the announcement trailer.

The only part I am liking so far in Halo 3 is the ability to take turrets off their stands and run around with them. The campaign so far seems just like another shooter but with something lacking: intensity. I can't take a shooter seriously if the enemies run around screaming silly phrases like fish in a barrel ready to be pwned while my teammates run around like idiots spouting terribly written dialogue. The story doesn't really seem to give me a reason to care enough about the characters or the war. Gameplay wise I find the lack of a sprint button highly annoying especially since the Chief runs as slow as molasses. I don't like that if you want to switch weapons while dual wielding that you have to drop your 2nd gun and switch and then basically have to pick the weapon you dropped back up when you switch back. To be quite honest, I have no idea why we talk about Halo when there's plenty of other great shooters out there that do single player so much better. I am enjoying Metroid Prime 3 much more than I am Halo 3. (Yes, I know that these are games from 2007 but this has been the only break in playing ps3 games that I have had in awhile to try the games not on ps3)-Halo is about GAMEPLAY. PS3 fans don't seem to understand that. All of these graphics discussions in SW go on all day, but at the end of the day, there are reasons why COD: MW, Halo 3, and even Counter Strike are still widely played online - and it had nothing to do with graphics. Compare the online activity between Halo 3 and Killzone 2, and you'll find out exactly how important graphics are. Halo 3 had a features list that is unmatch by any console game to date.
-I don't understand all these posts that say it wasn't in-game and that there is no way that Reach could look THAT good, and then continue on by saying that the graphics aren't even impressive. Please, pick a side and stop contradicting yourselves...it is embarrassing.

...because of it's multiplayer. And because there aren't too many other games that offer four player online/offline coop, 4 player splitscreen, forge, and theater.

Also, I'd like to point out most of those games came out after Halo 3 and had time to twerk their lighting effects.
Halo gets alot of flack for its graphics - but its lighting is usually sited as one of its strongpoints.

I'll give you theater mode because that is a really cool feature that every shooter should have. The feature list is nice and all but the gameplay IMHO is so soulless.TC (100% purebred cow),what you are looking for is a confirmation that Reach will not look as good asUC2 or KZ2 and that is all you came here for, am I right or am I right?
Instead of comparing the graphics directly to UC2 you have choosen Geow 2 as your target, how clever (not). Even though 90%of the posts in SW are stupid doesn't mean we allare in fact stupid.
To answer your question, Reach has the potential(maybe not)to be console graphics king and that is all that can be said about the matter.

I find it hard to disagree with you on that one. Not my finest hour I suppose.

The feature list is nice and all but the gameplay IMHO is so soulless. To me, Halo is a tactical shooter without cover. It's slower paced, and you really have to get into the fine details and nuances to fully apprectiate it. It's all skill really, there's no cheap deaths or anything. If you don't like it you don't like it, but I feel the gameplay certainly has "soul".how did it turn out? you havnt seen any gameplay of halo reach so you cant confirm any graphic improvments you saw.....other then a cutscene LOLI also remember cows saying halo wouldn't look good based off the beta.. look how that turned out... btw my obligatory lvl 1, 4 posts comment.

The lighting is awesome. Its bright and colorful, its not technically great but I think it looks better because of the great art design. The gameplay graphics are good but I agree the like ingame cutscenes are the worst this gen. by far.

right now it appears the haters are caught in loop. some say the trailer was completely CGI and doubt the game can look anything like what was shown. On the other hand, some are saying that the graphical leap between halo 3 and what was shown in trailer isn't high enough and that it will be a huge dissapointment graphic wise.
and of course...we have the haters that are hoping bungie ends up downgrading the game before it releases
