I laugh at thewhole "bring some thing new to the table/rehash" argument against Halo. It's an FPS, how can shooting in first person be different? What are all these creative minds doing posting on SW, anyway? Make something new, if you can't be quiet....cainetao11
I didn't say that against halo I said that against reach. Each halo before it had done something new, something awesome. Halo CE.. I could make a list a mile long of all the things that did new for console shooters.. Halo 2 invented matchmaking, brought duel weilding and was the biggest and best online shooter yet. Sure the campaign was crap, but the ability to do the custom games, and all the other stuff it did on consoles for the first time was pretty awesome. Then Halo 3 brought the forge, theater system, the crazy game types had awesome map design and so on.
Even though halo reach didnt do anything new thats not even my biggest problem with it. If you are going to make everything the same and really do nothing new, make sure its better than the last games you put out which imo its not. While the weapon balancing is better yeah, the multiplayer maps are all absolute garbage. Just crap they tried to shoehorn to work in both singleplayer and multiplayer and it absolutely killed it for me. Even the old maps they remade, they like made them too large or something because even the maps that were some of my favorites in halo 2 all you do is walk around looking for someone 90% of the time not being able to find anything. The art design is just dull as well, i get how its supposed to be more depressing experience because of how all the humans die and w/e.. but I think its funny how they tone down the look but then at the same time go WOOHOO HERE YA GO GUYZ! JET PACKS!! WOOOO.... lol it just seems like a weird clash in what tone they want the game to be.
