- Halo Recon To Be 3-5 Hours Long, Cross Between GRAW and Gears -

A news article from Gamespot just confirmed that the next Game Informer will have a story on Halo 3 Recon. Inside the mag will be 10 pages of Recon info :D and also a report that the game will be 3-5 hours and cost less than $60.

Can't wait to read the story in next months mag.

I still can't wait and it's been confirmd to have saved films from Gamespots original story on it. That alone is worth whatever the price of admission is for me.

For $20 that is an amazing bargin imo.

I think it is a test, a gameplay test. A test to see if people like a different genre of game set in the Halo universe. This allows them to produce it for a lot cheaper than if they would make the game from scratch.Wasdie

I have mixed feelings about this game. I'm really glad it's taking a new direction, but we're getting this in a year, and it's only going to be 3-5 hrs?

if the price is fair I dont see a problem.

Wipeout isn't considered a failure just because it isn't quite as long as a regular game but for that price I dont blame it.

yes. its a DLC. a 3-5 hour DLC

if this was on PS3, Sony would release on PSN and not disc. this is just a DLC.

take a look at SIREN. Sony released it on PSN. and it takes up to 10GB. if it was on X360, it would be a 2 disc game.lol.

Bungie have said themselves that it is nothing like ghost recon nor Gears of War and is "absolutely not a squad-based shooter." The only reason gamespot are saying that here is because they predicted it about six months ago and even though it was a rumor from someone they knew, they were absolutely adament about it and were obviously a little embarrassed when it turned out to be nonsense.Ninja-Hippo

Ouch, you got me there. Seems like it's always the Publisher's fault though. Half Life 2 was published and developed by Valve, while Halo 3: Recon will be published by MS and developed by Bungie. All the long games are always published and developed by the same company.

I actually like the run and gun gameplay of halo 3 as much as the gears of war gameplay, and I hope bungie is not just going to copy them. What I'd like bungie to do is automatic cover. For example, if you're hugging a wall, then you don't have to press a button to take cover behind it, and if you duck behind an object then you automatically duck far enough. Also I don't see how cover mechanic + first person view wouldn't work. You'd just have to peek from time to time.  

It will be a nice little expansion for the Halo crowd, what is the big deal? It is not supposed to be a sequel, lol. Not interested in it myself though. In fact, I am still wondering what good exclusives is the 360 even going to have next year that I am interested in.

Hopefully they have some bold new IP's that they have not announced. If not, then I see my 360 collecting quite a bit of dust as the next year rolls in. Come on, Microsoft. Give me some exciting news regarding next year already.

MGS1 was supposedly only 2 hours long. I found it longer but GS says it was little over 2 hours. Or around there.

They said it would be an expansion, and that to reach more people, it would be in disk form.

Also, i'm willing to bet it sells more then most PS3 exclusives, if not all.
