Most people who like LP also actually like good music, point mute.

It isn't fair to compare gaming to the rock/metal catergory since there isn't a game series/game out there as good as the band "STONE".

Further more I don't think this thread really has any viable point to be made on your part. People like the game, be it those who played "better" FPS or not. If you're going to try and generalize millions of gamers, all I see is failure for your agenda.

Linkin Park is my favorite band, despite that Minutes to Midnight pretty much sucks.. at least in comparison to the other cd's.

Now if you don't like them fine. But I think 50 cent is a better comparison. There are far better rappers with more skill, just like there are better FPS that are more epic, better designed etc.

Not to say 50 or Halo is bad, but there are better of each in their respective categories.

I think many of you are missing the concept of subjectivity here. You say "better", but to whom? You, yeah sure maybe. To others? Maybe not, but then again who is anyone else to say what they think is actually wrong.

Even if we go by industry consensus (ie reviews across the board), it's not like Halo and Half-Life titles are seperated by some large difference in quality (again according to average of industry).

To the TC, it really doesn't bother me that much especially since Halo is at least a GOOD FPS. I mean sure there are may superior to it but it's still GOOD. Much rather have that then a game like Mortal Kombat that relied on gore when really it is the most laughable game series amongst the fighting community because it's so broken and primative.

Few are argueing its not a good game, what is being said is its over-rated.. I my self would give it a 8.0 to 8.5 a game well worth playing, but certainly not considered one of the best FPS's ever made, nor games for that matter.

Even though Halo is less skillful then some PC shooters I highly doubt that anyone actually is educated about the genre and more so saying that because they are just ravid jealous fanboys.

I mean you can't talk about skill and diss Halo one day, while hyping Resistence and Killzone the day before.

How To Rob era was great, so was most of Guess Who's Back. I actually like all of his stuff, I just know it's really cheesy and doesn't have a lot of substance. Doesn't make it bad, just isn't exactly artistic.

I started FPS gaming in 1992 with Wolfenstein 3D (first game I ever played, actually) and kept up with it ever since. I went through all the classics from Wolf 3D and Doom to Half Life 2 and FEAR. I adored Shogo and Undying. I enjoyed the alternative takes on the genre that were Deus Ex and System Shock 2.

I also love Halo.

Being a counter-example, I prove your theory wrong.

Also, I like Linkin Park and I listen to a lot of classic rock and other things you would deem "better". I'm not choosy with my music: I listen to what sounds good, and Linkin Park sounds good. In fact, they're one of the many bands I would count among my favorites.
