as if it was ever going to be anything other than garbage. its the typical hero action flick: introduce characters, something goes wrong, chief comes to save the day.

If Frank O'Connor really wanted a good show or movie, he would hand over creative control to someone with actual talent at making a show or movie. I have no sympathy for this.
FYI, this isn't the TV show. It's a digital series, 5 episodes I think, hence the low budget.
The TV show is the one being produced by Spielberg. We haven't seen anything about it yet
^ It is nice to see someone like Spielberg attached to the show, but I'd still rather see a movie with a good director and producer than a show.

Master Chief won't be in Nightfall, it is introducing Locke before his role in Halo 5.
Did it really take 50 posts in for it to be brought up that Halo: Nightfall is NOT the "Halo TV show" directed by Steven Speilberg and Neil Blomkamp, but instead, a low budget promotional web series ala Forward Unto Dawn?
Title and OP is misleading, and needs to be changed, but im pretty sure TC knew this and designed the thread to mislead. For shame Moojenga.
FYI, this is Neil Blomkamp's newest movie, Chappie:
This is the next upcoming movie, by one of the guys directing the ACTUAL Halo TV show, who also made District 9. Look at that fooking CGI. I am not worried in the slightest about this TV show dissapointing.
I haven't seen it yet so I'm going to just write it off because a bunch of people I've never heard of do. "Mama" was a well received horror movie and I thought it was shit. Big deal.
Halo: Nightfall is not the Halo TV Series. Nightfall is a five-part episodic event produced by Ridley Scott and tells the origin of Agent Locke, one of Halo 5: Guardian's main characters. Nightfall is done by the same team who did Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, which told the origin of the one of Halo 4's main character, Thomas Laskey. The TV Series is still in development and being produced by Steven Spielberg.

TC was well aware of this before posting this thread. The thread was designed specifically for the intention of misleading.

Maybe so, but even the reviews couldn't make the distinction between the low-budget episodic event Nightfall and the upcoming full-fledged Halo TV Series. I can't take these reviews seriously when the reviewers couldn't even properly do the research.
that's an awful lot of write-up in the OP when one could just look at the trailer and see it looks like shit
It's about a man in a motocross helmet shooting pokemon.
The man has nothing to work with.
Just because you don't like the Xbox brand doesn't mean you have to be an ignorant dick. The games have a decent story and there are several books and a live action miniseries (web) to draw from.
My friend, I'm going to be making old el paso fajitas in about 20's minutes time, whatever is in them, probably has more substance than Halo.
Funny, but that just shows you don't know what you are talking about. The Halo "universe" includes 6 games, 6 books, 2 graphic novels, 1 Anime movie, and 1 live action miniseries.
Again, ignorance is no excuse for being a dick.
There's actually about 13 books, some of them were kind of bleh like Kilo 5 trilogy, some of them were fantastic like the Forerunner Trilogy.
Halo Escalation is the comic series currently running and I'm digging it. Especially since it's going to tie into Halo 5.
I did not know there were that many, thanks for the update. I got the Forerunner Trilogy as a present, but I haven't read it yet.
It's pretty good, the Forerunner trilogy, especially Silentium really expands on the Flood and really shows that if they really wanted to they could steamroll the UNSC and Covenant overnight.

Hoh man. You should read The Fall of Reach sometime. The books do a much better job of portraying John/Master Chief as the unstoppable bad ass that he is. I can think of at least three situations in the books that are never talked about in the games that can and will blow your mind. They did for me anyway.
Damn, now you made me hungry.
If this was released in 2005 it would've been big. In 2014 no one cares about halo but couple of nerds fueled by nostalgia.

Based on the $220 million Halo 4 made on its launch day, I'd have to agree that nobody cares about Halo.
They can always bring it back next year as a Remastered version.
Nah, this isn't The Last of Us.
There are still people who care about the official Halo fanfic in 2014?
So Xbox owners get bad shows and great games.
PS4 owners get no shows and no games.
Wrong way round on the games there, Justin.
