Do you really expect honest answers? This would be a better topic on the 360 board.

I don't understand why you have to justify it, it's not all that great and yes I have played it, I liked the simplistic controls of it and how it worked considering it is a console RTS but other then that, it felt stripped down it wasn't very long and there wasn't all that many mechanics to dwell on, now if you had said Empire Total War, that's a different story, IMO RTS' should stay on the PC.

Yeah you don't sound biased at all. In fact that poll is totally fair, even though Halo Wars is flawed from a general RTS standpoint.

It was good. I enjoyed it, although the campaign was too short.

The cutscenes were pretty good too.

With KUF2 on the horizon, Halo Wars is just a fun game, great but far from the epic behemoth coming to 360 this year

obamanian

is fable 3 on the works or am i missing something???

ontopic :clearly the only good choice in the poll is the 3rd one,i prefer to say that i am a ps3 fanboy rather to say that halo wars is good,if halo wasnt in the name fanboys wouldnt defend it ,you strive to make the rest of the world think that it is a good game in order to justify your purchace.halo wars floped in gamespot bigtime, its the laughing stock of 360 here,if you dont mention it it will probably fade away like lair, but if you continue to praise it you will get owned with the score in sw.why dont you praise ninja blade ???its a better choice

Im loving it. Imo it only has one big problem. Its too easy to get money. Once you have your bases complete you have infinit resorses and the game is not challenging any more. If you had limited resourses it would force you to look for and fight for more mines or bases along the map. Alse the flood sould be playable

It's decent. The core gameplay is sound, but the design is generally uninspired and the controls still need tweaking (ie it needs user-created groups).

So the solution to rts on cosoles is to make it more simple?

That's like meeting a really hot chick and ending up with her retarded twin. The sex is still good but you're going to get sick of it real soon.

you sir win at metaphor congrats, anyway fun game but limited replaybability and online consists of RUSH!!!!!

I've played PC strategy games and to be fair I think a lot of PC games go into too much depth, so much so that it loses the fun factor. When I was younger and had time to play games all day I enjoyed a very very deep game. I used to hate FPS because they were too simple...run and gun. But now FPS are more enjoyable and strategy games are very hard for me to enjoy due to the complexities of them. I love that Halo Wars made it more simple to play. I don't need a huge build tree to enjoy a game, just give me a several options and I'm good.

Wouldn't this topic be best suited here? This is the worst place to get "honest" answers on the quality of a popular game (especially a "Halo" game).

Fair enough, but shouldn't they be cheaper on the 360 if they have less depth and gameplay, when instead PC strategy games are at least $10 cheaper with vast amounts more content? To me HW and console RTS's feel like stripped down versions with such limited choices, they feel like i'm being ripped off.

ive only played the demo. but based on that....still the usual problems. sloppy controls and way way too dumbed down. with empire out and dawn o war 2 out i have absolutely no reason to pick this up. a case of nice idea (a proper halo rts would be kewl), wrong platform.

This would be a better poll, it's a pretty bare minimum rts, someone else already mentioned that C&C could be the better rts, my question to you guys is if the name halo wasn't attached to this would people here or anywhere in that matter give this game a second thought or chalk it up as another run of the mill rts?

Yea I'm not saying people shouldn't enjoy it, everyone has different tastes, only that so many console games have limited gameplay (in terms of length, depth, complexity or whatever - don't get me wrong I really enjoy many games on my 360) but cost more. People bash PC gaming but its easily the best bang for your buck.

Well some people just really like games and play through a wider range of games, I love gaming but I can't bring myself to play through a lot of games, I need something truly well done in a game to hook me, the only thing I liked in Halo Wars was the CGI, but I'm not really into the Halo universe. There are too many awesome RTS games out on the market for me to even seriously consider Halo Wars.

That's really nice -- so how about you just keep focusing your opinion on yourself (don't focus on saying group x doesn't like game x -- it's entirely baseless).

Halo Wars is an entertaining, fun, and an easy to understand RTS game. As of now, it's perfect for Xbox 360 and will hopefully lead developers to make better RTS games on consoles.

That was my point, people discussing games on a forum are always just stating their opionions which fall into group x. I sure as hell aint with the casual group, I've played RTS's since starcraft, they aren't my fav genre, which just makes it even harder to get into a game like Halo Wars. I need more.

Cause I do own a 360 and Halo Wars wouldn't even be getting half the attention if it didn't come with a Halo 3 map pack and had "Halo" in it's name.

Mate, you instead made a baseless accusation with no evidence and definitely no foundation in your post to prove what you stated -- hell, you flat out stated you'll only enjoy Halo Wars if you're some rookie whose never even played a RTS before. There's plenty of users here who love Halo Wars and enjoy playing other RTSs.
