In regards to FPSs - 9.5 FPS on PC > 9.5 FPS on any console.
I'm a console fan, but it's true. The larger amount of RAM and better networking and mod support put PC games beyond comparative console games. The standard is higher.

$400 console > $4000 computer. Sure, you can play it ona cheapo PC, but I'd bet dollars to doughnuts the rig Jason O'campo used to review Crysis on for this site cost at least five times more than my 360. So put that in your pipe and smoke it. The Halo games were never even relevant in the PC world. Everything about them had been done before and done much better...even about a decade ago.

You do know you can get a Quad Core, 2Gb, Dual GPU (SLI or Crossfire), with about 1800 dollars.
Does it bother that no FPS on consoles can ever match up with a PC FPS?

Denial is a river in Egypt.
Here let me help you out.
Go read the Half Life 2 review then the Halo 2 review.
Go read the Crysis review then the Halo 3 review.
Come to think of it, when has anything revolutionary for FPS genre ever come out on consoles?
I'm sure GS rated both Crysis and Halo 3 as 9.5 to prevent people from leaving the forums or screaming BIAS. Kind of like what I've seen GI do a few times by rating both games "game of the month" and giving two games the same score... its just trying to stop people from canceling subscriptions...
In reality though... Crysis > Halo 3.HostileEffect
You mean Jeff Gerstman the closet lemming had to give it a 9.5 or else he would commit suicide. I sometimes wish Greg K was still here on Gamespot.

GOD, I am glad you don't represent the majority of PC owners, because I'd be disgusted that I'd be playing the same games as you...

Not to mention I'm playing the Crysis demo on a $650 PC with a 7900Gs on medium settings and I've already put more time in on the Crysis demo and replays of it then I have on the entire Halo 3 singleplayer campaign. I also had more fun in those forty minutes then during the decent, but dull 7-8 hour campaign in Halo 3. Don't let playing the game on lower settings scare you. As long as you have the RAM and CPU to run the AI and physics the game is incredible and should not be missed by anyone who likes FPSs.
Yes Crysis 9.5 > Halo 3 9.5.
Read the review to find out.
"One of the best shooters ever"
"Reinvents the FPS genre"
"Sets a new bar in terms of Graphics, enemy AI, and overall Gameplay for all games"
'nuff said.

Exactly, by no means Halo 3 is bad game, just Cryisis is superior. Don't go by the score alone, go by the words of the review. But what do I know, I have to get the game .

No, because I will play more PC games when I get a new PC. And I like controllers equally to keyboard and mouse. Sorry, but I do.So $1800? Including Vista? If so, that's amazing. Good news for me, I'll be building a new rig soon. Last one I built was for HL2 and DOom 3, so yeah... it's old.
Oh, and $1800 is still a whole hell of a lot more than $400, just for the record. Not to mention Tax, which would put it right at $2000. Still, if you're arguing that "It's not five times as much, just 4.5 times as much," then that's pretty funny. At least to me. Ever hear of the law of diminishing returns?

From people that I know that are playing the pirated version, they are getting at least 45fps on average @ high to very high settings.

Just look at your whole month-long posting history. Hell, you racked on someone for simply saying a console FPS was the best FPS they had played. I enjoy PC gaming as much as console gaming, but, unlike you apparently, I can enjoy both without being so elitist as to think that one is laughable.

Don't pirated versions typically run better because they aren't bottlenecked by the slow optical drive speed?PC games pretty much don't use optical drives for anything aside from the initial installation. Oblivion runs off the hard drive and has less hiccups in frame rate on PC as opposed to its console counterparts.

Grade AAA ! :)
hooray for the 10 people who can actually play it with 60fps.3dbullseye
Have you even played the game :?? It doesn't need 60fps like most games to run smoothly, it only needs 20fps, which $600 rigs can put up on medium settings (even on med. it still blows away any console game to date). The developers put a lot of time into making it run smooth and I have played it at 15fps and it still is the most smooth game I have ever played, including consoles and PCs. Most people can run this game, and have it look good. Some people just want to up the settings to very high to get all the eye candy.
Crysis gets 9.5 if you've got a stupdily expensive PC with SLI & everything- but otherwise it doesnt beat a Halo3 or Gears of War.
heck the review says that Crysis laughs at every CPU & GPU you throw at it-surely thats not a good thing.
the best thing abou Half-life2 was that it ran well on all kinds of systems.

For a PC gamer like myself, 1800 for all that is an amazing deal now a days. It's PC gaming, if you are going to knock a game, or a platform of gaming because of it's price, then that's your opinion, others however, like myself, disagree, since we don't mind spending that much money.
