Handheld GOTY's?

What are some of the best handheld games this year? For those of you who don't mind taking a break from console/PC gaming here and there for the sake of handhelds. This can include iPod/smartphone/tablet games as well.

I think right now Super Mario 3D Land is my top pick. It's a fantastic addition to the Mario franchise that I think everyone who owns or plans to buy a 3DS, must buy.

Bit.Trip Saga, although a port over from the Wii virtual console, is perfect for a handheld device. This collection is challenging, and it is also easy to pick up and play. Bit.Trip Saga is one of those games that can be viewed as either a casual or a hardcore experience depending on how the player looks at it.

What are some other good handheld games?

Ghost Trick will be Handheld GOTY. GT has some of the best animations that I have ever seen in a game. Combine that with a great story with humorous characters, plus it has solid gameplay to boot. Also a lot of the reviewers loved Missile. :P

Ghost Trick is awesome, I agree. Super Mario Land 3D also looks like a lot of fun, though I haven't played it yet. Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together is also an incredibly good game, albeit a remake.

We should not forget that Mario Kart is not out yet. That is a very likely contender as well.

Ya I'm guessing Ghost Trick.

DS has had many masterpieces this year like Ghost Trick. Hard to pick just one. And yeah, even though it's a port, I'd have to say Bit.Trip Saga is probably one of the most fun to play (for me). But I think that's because I love Bit.Trip Runner. And wouldn't you know it, Bit.Trip Runner's geting a sequel.

Radiant Historia or Ghost Trick should get it. Both are amazing games.

My personal favorites this year were Radiant Historia (DS) and Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (PSP).

I haven't played much Fate/Extra yet, but that is my current obsession.

Gotta play grand knights history first.

Super Mario 3D Land so far unless Mario Kart 7 is up with Mario Kart DS.

If we're counting imports then FF Type-0 looks like the boss of 'em all. Valkyria Chronicles 3 is great from what I hear as well.

999 got robbed last year. Because it seem like it was reviewed a tad too late, it stuck in a void where it didn't get in last year's GOTY awards and it definitely won't this year. The game deserve more attention.
