Happy 50th birthday, Microsoft!

Microsoft has turned 50 years old, what an amazing company, accomplishing so much within that time. They went from being a small startup to a massive behemoth rivalling IBM and Apple. I love Windows, I love Xbox, as well as their first party studios.

50 years may sound old, but they are younger than Sony and Nintendo lol. Nintendo is from the late 1800s.

Xbox Game Pass

Allowing first party studios to publish games on other platforms

Unifying console and PC gamers into a single ecosystem

Making it easier to port games between Xbox and PC due to x86 chipsets

Cloud Gaming

Plenty of good first party studios

Windows

My favourite thing from them is the Xbox consoles closely followed by Game Pass.

The Intellimouse, Z-80 SoftCard, SystemCard, formatting 1.44MB floppies to 1.68MB (although it could go higher), Xbox 360

Friends make fun of me for using Bing rather than google. I tell them I get rewards points I use on my Xbox for using Bing.

They say "does Playstation do that?"

I answered "How would they?"

Thank you Microsoft for paving the way on overpriced dlc and paying to play online. So awesome!

I guess Windows would be, although it is a rollercoaster with it, sometimes it's good, sometimes bad, now with 11 definitely it's on the bad side.

What I'm happy for:

-Phil Spencer

-Xbox controller

-Bottom of an Avatars shoe

-Rare renaissance

-Age of Empires coming back

-Gamepass is just great throughout 2025 and 2026. Sony nor Nintendo have anything that can compete with it

-Auto HDR

-Games getting unofficial Xbox One/Series X remasters

Only thing I cared about that MS did was create Xbox, but even then they managed to **** that up.

In the end just another American company that only cares about greed.

Their OS is ok.

happy birthday! They aren't always perfect but they always try the hardest and are most passionate about games in general.

@lavamelon: I love Windows and Xbox too. Always strongly preferred Microsoft next to Apple. The only thing Microsoft really sucks at is naming their consoles.
