I just wanted to do a topic in recognition of the 5th anniversary of the launch of the Xbox 360 in North America. Though my launch Pro system is still alive and well, with all the talk of the RRoD and failure rate it seems a lot longer than that. Anyway, happy birthday/anniversary Xbox 360.Stinger78

And just think. Processing power doubles every 18 months. So if MS didn't play the casual game... We would have a console 3.33 times more powerful then what we have now.

1080p 60 fps any one? To bad... You gotta wait till your 50 before they do anything.

Happy Birthday Xbox 360, You've given me many happy hours. I just traded my launch 360 (well Jan 06) in for a Slim when they came out, up until that time it ran flawlessly.

5 years. Damn,

Remember when the console companies had charismatic frontmen like Phil Harrison and Peter Moore? Hell, even Jay Allard was amusing.

Now all we have are doofy corporate goons like Don Mattrick and Aaron Greenburg, I do like Jack Tretton though. He gives of a great drunk uncle vibe.

It's been that long? The early years really flew by.

I just hope the next couple years don't completely ruin what I will remember as the first consoleI really enjoyed.

If you got the 250GB model just install the games.It's better for the long-term health of the system anyway. Less heat.

6-8 GB and it also speeds up loading(barely noticeable in some games, and a world of difference in others). Not to mention you can just delete the game after you're done.

Mass Effect? Probably not, as the dips in frame rate were caused by the inefficiency of the game code, not loading speed.

It does help with loading time issues for many games, however. Lost Odyssey is a good example. That, less heat, and the DVD-Rom barely having to run are the three biggest advantages.

Just make sure you try it before giving up on a perfectly good system, especially if you have one of the new slims.

Edit: And I got another free XBL card this september after my 360 broke weeks before Halo reach came out so I dont know what you're talking about :? M$ doesnt give out free boxes anymore if thats what you mean.
