Hardcore, game addict or casual

we use these lables to catagorize gamers. some people get offended when a game or system is labled casual. A casual player is someone who play ocassionally. A hardcore gamer is someone who plays one game or genre frequetly and a gme addict is someone who plays a variety of genres and gaming is their main pastime. What is the problem with being labled Casual, hardcore or an addict.?

I am an addict I love everything from Flower to Killzone the SMG. I paly every chance i get I think game addicts should be the ones frowned upon. Get a life.

Hardcore gameers are a joke they play Madden, Halo ect. everyday all year round. Or just follow what ever is the popular game at the time.

Casuals play ocassionally because they have other interest in life they are the most balanced people and should be commended for it.

I always thought addicts and hardcores were the same thing.

I'm an addict, but I actually spend more time here than I do on video games.

By the way, I didn't have a life before I really got into gaming, so I don't feel the need to get one now.

i guess an addict .... and i dun care abt what ppl say abt that as long as i feel content and satisfied abt my performance in the real life, which i usually feel bad abt.

I'm casual, i used to play a lot of games before but now college, gf and work leaves no time for gaming, which is sad cuz is my favorite hobby.

casual, dont play all that much maybe bout 10-15h a week.Nowadays im putting more time into playing bass.

I guess I fit into the "addict" category the best. I'll play any game I deem enjoyable, and have done for as long as I can remember.

so what would you call a 30 year old who's been gaming since he wasjust a young boy who enjoys all genres on all systems, but he get's married works a lot of hours and doesn't have time to game like he used to? one final thought...this guy still spends almost all his free time gaming even if it's only a few hours a week compared to a few hours a day like when he was young. if you haven't figured it out yet this guy is me:)
