Most hermits would not want to play a shooter competitively without a mouse, or pay a monthly fee for what they can get for free.Â
As a hermit who delved into this gen, the PS3 was the clear choice.
When you rule out all the existing/probable PC ports from the 360 library it is not very compelling. (Gears 2, Fable 2 for eg)Â
In contrast, this year the PS3s AAAA, and two AAA exclusives will not appear on the PC, or any other console for that matter.'Â
Hardcore gaming is word we gamers came up with right? Â There is no such thing as a hardcore stamp collector. Maybe if you are interested in cliff diving, glass eating, something like that, then the word hardcore sounds right.
OT, the most competitive console is by far Xbox 360. Bigger more experienced userbase, better online support. You wan`t to play the best clans, 360 is the way to go.

As a hermit, I enjoy all type of shooter, whether be on keyboard and mouse or controller. I find the exclusives on the 360 good enough for me to warrent ownership of one.

It is likely Fable and Gears 2 will come to the PC like their predecessors, in which case, the 360 would have barely any exclusives at all.
xbox 360 and PS3 what's the point?Elite-Realist

fable 2 maybe, but gears of war2 will not be going to pc, both MS and EPIC have clearly stated this. This term Hardcore gamer is over used and seems to have lost its meaning, All consoles/handhelds can be hardcore... becuase its not the console which is hardcore its the GAMER!!!bf2nuttaagreed but looking in the perspective which console is more hardcore oriented they both have similar games so i'd say 50-50
[QUOTE="ArisShadows"]No, PS3, 360 and PC is the most hardcoreAll three consoles.
Toriko42
well that doesn't sound very hardcore of you :P :)
Was the term "hardcore" for games/gamers always this over used? I never really noticed it in previous generations, but in this generation it seems like alot of people who are called hardcore gamers were what'd be the casual gamers of previous generations. Is "hardcore" the new fad? Since the brain training games and the like hit it big, has anything that's not part of that just become hardcore(when it wouldn't have been considered such before then).. or is hardcore meant for just the games with mature content, no matter their ease or stupidity? Why do people not think of the truelly challenging and deep games when they think/talk of hardcore?  Why don't people praise niche games more when talking about hardcore gaming?
I would say anything but Wii. 360 would be the first choice with games like Ace Combat, Forza Motorsport, Dead or Alive, etc. But then again PS3 does have Warhawk, MGSIV, & GT5 soon. I know the Wii didnt appeal to me for very long. I beat Super Mario Galaxy (one of the best games this gen) and that was that. Mario Kart, HoTD, Z&W, etc were ok games, but didnt keep my interest. Looking at this holiday season when Gears, Fable, Fallout, CoD, B&K, etc were all coming out for the 360, and I wanted nothing for the Wii, I sold the Wii.
I think it goes to the 360 because it has more games, but i'm a PC gamer who sees the PS3 as the better value since most 360 games end up on PC anyway. I wouldn't call myself a hardcore gamer though :|............X360PS3AMD05
By nature, it's the PC. The words "hardcore" and "console" don't generally go together.

Maybe I grew up or something but I loved my SNES, and N64 when I was young. Those RARE games kept me entertained forever and I loved Super Mario 64. It was a great console but the third party support went away oddly enough so I also had a PS1. Last gen I also had a Gamecube which I used for Capcom games and the Nintendo first parties which disappointed me. I played my PS2 more. Now the Wii just sucks, gimmicky controls and nothing there for a core gamer to enjoy.A hardcore gamer goes for every system , handheld , PC . or console .
That's exactly what makes him a hardcore gamer in the first place !

wii has the worst line-up of titles since the begining of video games.
Â
the only titles i own are smg, ssbb and zelda which is pathetic . i do have a few vc games but compared to the 30 disc based game i own on 360 and 10 xbla games the wii is a gimped console for the hardcore
Â
i bought mp3 for my little cousinÂ
[QUOTE="mistervengeance"]360 has the best games, and the best online experience. it's that simple.0bscurity
I like how you pass opinion as fact.
PS3 + PC easily. Too many titles are shared between the 360/PC to warrant having both.
Â
funny how i play the witcher, crysis, nwn and fc2 on pc. while i play gears 2, fable 2, ng2 and pgr4 on the 360.

"bubu teh same games guys":cry:Â
PS360! Gaming/Online + Multimedia/Blu-Ray = HARDCORE!
If I can only choose one...Microsoft Xbox 360!
On a side note: LOL, theres a Blu-Ray ad next to where I'm supposed to type my post :P
If someone is looking at the raw games and online then PC is the way to go BUT if you want all that gimped down to a console then definately the 360.KinderChimp
The only reason why you can say "gimped down" is because you've paid 200 bucks for your update. The fact of the matter is when a console is first released it is better than most PCs on the market at that time.
So I will keep my "gimped down" gaming consoles that are cheaper, funnier and more simple than any PC game. And if a little better graphics are that important to you, go ahead and spend your 200 bucks every 2 years ;)
