So, reviews pop up every now and then. Now, most people don't give a shit about the actual review itself. Who wants to know the actual details regarding plot, gameplay, and presentation anyway, right?

Great. Got that out of the way. So, scores. Scores. That's the main focus of a review, according to us ridiculous looking folk. So, simple. Have you gotten upset over a review ever?

You motherfuckers better be honest. I see how some of you flip their shit over a digitalfoundry frame rate analysis. Let alone a number slapped on a game. Dear oh dear, SW. You're the armpit of GS, but it's an armpit I love smelling.

As far as back in the day....hmmmmm MGS3: Snake Eater at "ONLY" 8.7 was pretty mad at the "underrated" part of it lol.

Well I just annoy the stuff/moderators in ign until they get really annoyed(specially dan stapleton lol). Most of the time just asking when will the review be up.

Snake Eater is the shit, that's for sure. Reminds me of this Mega64 video where this guy reviews Uncharted 3 an 8.5. Writes a whole review, and everybody flips out.

Eh, the dude was behind Bastion, and Bastion is cool. I went through DMC3 though. OG edition. Shit was tough :p

And yes, I'm not a big fan of PDZ. Never finished it. Got to this jungle level, and stopped. Like, COD2 was a much more competent FPS, and came out way earlier.

Tekken 6 (Irate Gamer) - He said the entire game was dubbed in Japanese, didn't review the arcade mode in his original review, and when he did revise it, he let his blatant Mortal Kombat fanboyism get in the way. Add the fact that he insulted reviewers (such as Gamespot) for having their own opinions on the game.

Zatch Bell! Mamodo Battles (X-Play) - They said the game relied on one particular button for combat, which is utter crap. Sure it relied on it for a good chunk of the spells, but most melee strikes relied on another button. Ryan Davis review was more understandable, and hell, even Derek Buck acknowledged you needed more than one button.

Metroid: Other M (X-Play) - Do I gotta go into this?

Rayman Origins Wii, Goldeneye Reloaded and LEGO Star Wars GameCube (CGRUndertow) - I like Derek, I even follow the guy on Twitter, but holy shit did he slack off with these, primarily due to the fact that he already reviewed these games on other consoles (PS3, Wii, and PS2 respectively) and said "go check out my older reviews if you want more info".

Gamespots review on resident evil 6. Sure some people don't like it at all but it did not deserve a 4! That is unplayable and is worse than ORC!

To be fair though, are any of these as bad as The Hateful Truth reviews?

Not angry but certainly in hysterics. I don't respect bad reviews, I know enough about games to form my own opinion and I have plenty of people I do respect who can give me the lowdown.

I've noticed.

The only one i can remember is the Mass Effect review. They complained about technical problems. Yes, it had a few, but the game was still an easy 9.

And the Fable 2 review. Game deserved a 9

The only time a review bothers me is when it's obvious that they haven't played it long enough to encounter game breaking bugs or been paying attention to the dev's undelivered promises or outright lies.

This being a perfect example on both counts: XCOM: EW got an 8

Sadly it happens a lot to me, mostly cause the lack of inconsistency reviewers have is just... it's fubard....

I get more annoyed by people's ignorant comments on the forums than reviews.

I was pretty mad during the Xbox 360 era when reviewers treated PC gaming and PC games like shit.

It also grinds my gears when they completely ignore the PC version of the multiplatform title, or they just say three words about it.

Not really, maybe a bit frustrated but I don't think I've ever actually felt anger or depression over a video game.

Usually I hate it when reviewers push their political agenda unto a game despite its own qualities. Killer is Dead was a very fun game and one of Sudas best yet every reviewer out there decided to riot on it mostly because of a couple of stupid side missions that involved at looking at women. And when petit raved on GTA V for the way it retracted women and gave an 9.5 to a meh "game" for having a lesbian as a protagonist. this type of shit just p*sses me off

No I don't get mad. But I do get annoyed at a reviewer who gets their information wrong in the game that they review.

yes but its a rare thing for me anymore, i'm really to old to care at this point lol. i was however disgusted with the treatment of moh warfighter. the gamespot review didn't bother me but tom mcsheas articles and some of the other reviews pissed me off. i've always thought it was a decent game and i'm a fan of eala/dangerclose, now dice la. they've got some talented people working for that studio. besides, warfighters mp was top notch. sp wasn't that great but it had emotion, thats more than i can say for alot of other titles out there.

i really enjoyed when tom interviewed greg from eala about warfighters "disrespectful" portrayal of war. greg rightfully ripped him a new asshole during said interview. seeing tom put in his place was absolutely hilarious.

the recent Alien Isolation review made me upset and angry :(

i dont give a shit about reviews, i dont even watch them until i have finished the game because they spoil too much neither do i care about the score.

Nope. Its someone's opinion. Now, there are certain viewers who I usually have the same tastes with, so their input does make me maybe look at a game I wouldn't have otherwise.

I miss the days when the average video game review score was around 5/10 (like movies, books and music)... Nowadays, the average game review score is around 8/10.

Whenever you got the odd games critic here or there (like McShea) trying to bring some balance back to games reviews, you get hordes of idiotic gamers condemning any reviewers who dare to give their favourite "AAA" game anything less than a 9/10 or 10/10... This is why games reviews have become a complete joke today.

I was super mad about the shenmue reviews way back when. I wasn't alone. GameSpot lost its sh!t regarding our anger and changed the score.

I wouldn't say angry, either shocked or disappointed. For example, Alien: Isolation, (judging only by the GS review) is disappointing, but for the most part I try to judge the game myself and see if it's to my liking only using reviews as a starting point.
