I find this term so ridiculously overused. I got my PS3 in '08, never ever felt it had a "drought" in exclusives because I was too busy catching up with Uncharted 1 and Ratchet and Clank ToD. I got my Wii and 360 in '10 and didn't feel they had any droughts either. 360, while repetitive, always had enjoyable and amazing Halo, Gears, and Fable outings (along with others), while the Wii still entertains me endlessly with Super Mario Galaxy, along with a few other cool exclusives thrown here and there. Basically, I never had a "drought" for exclusives because I was always catching up on the old ones. What say you SW?
Well, as far as exclusives go it's been a while since either console released something that interests me enough to buy, there are ones though that I still want to pick up that I haven't played yet.
Of course there are "exclusives droughts" but they don't really matter since we get plenty of multiplats to play instead. Unlike the 90s when a drought meant you could go half a year or more without anything decent to play at all.
The 360 doesn't really have any exclusives other than Gears that interest me, though I still seem to buy Halo compulsively, even though it bores me to tears. I'm still glad I have it though, since I don't have a PC and the 360 tends to get better multiplats. Also, games like Witcher 2 and Alan Wake, which aren't on PS3.
no. i have way more games than i know what to do with. whether it be exclusives, multiplats or whatever. there are too many good games out right now.anyone who says otherwise either has waaaaay too much time on their hands or needs a new hobby
i only bought brawl in 2008 for my wii. spent the rest of the year without seeing a single new game. don't recall buying much for it in 2009 either... so yeah.
I wouldn't say there is ever a true drought, but when you limit it to exclusives that are brand new, you can run out of games fast since alot of games don't interest people.
I stopped playing my Wii a few years ago, and actually gave it to a family member. I know I missed a few great exclusives (and under the radar - non Nintendo) games in 2009-2010, but after that I didn't miss much, plus the Wii had already lost 99% of it's 3rd party at that point. So people that had a Wii as their main console during this whole time must have been absolutely dying for some games. MS has had a lack of exclusives for years now. Just as bad as Nintendo, but of course 360 gets all the major multiplat games that Wii doesn't get so the pain isn't as bad. Even the PS3 really doesn't have THAT many exclusive games anymore, and certainly less than last gen because most big budget (and even small budget) games are multiplat now. But at least Sony is maintaining their 1st parties and doing interesting new projects even as the gen is winding down. Can't wait to see what their key studios are working on for next gen.
More like a drought of good console games. I could count the number of games that have truly piqued my interest in playing my PS3 for this entire generation on one hand.
Well the last 3 years for the Wii. I think DKC Returns was the last thing I got for it.
The PS3 this next 6 months. I do not care about All-Stars Brawl and Sly is something I would not pay full price for. Also- The first year for the PS3 was pretty bare bones.
The 360 over the last 2 years has had big gaps between exclusives. I understand they are prepping a new system but it is still uncalled for. Can't use Kinect as an excuse because it did not get anything either.
Wii. The first and only time I ever felt a drought (I got a PSP in 2009, and by then I had a sizeable backlog to work through, so I never got to experience any of its infamous droughts).
Last exclusive I got on 360 was Sine Mora, so a couple month drought. Last exclusive I got for PS3 was Uncharted 3 last year so quite a few month drought there. Last PC exclusive I got was Fall of the Samurai so a month or so ago. All in all, the mutliplats keep me far too busy to give a rats ass about exclusives.
The Wii had the worst droughts for any major console in history. Only on the Wii can you be in the middle of the console cycle and still go for a whole year without games.
for my Wii, not. too many great games that just get overlooked because of lack of HD amazing graphics. PS3 has lots of exclusives and imo, more then xbox360. but pc and wii would be my pick as having best exclusives.
In this financial climate I'm certainly not going to complain. Although the 360 is in a low right now I'll admit, but it's not bad enough to bother me.

PC does have a vast library to chose from, really feel sorry for the 360 at the moment, it has very few exclusives other then kinect.
As.. opposed to the Wii which is just swimming in exclusives and 3rd party offerings.. :roll:
A drought would indicate a lack of something that once existed, it would be difficult for the wii to suffer a drought of exclusives as it has never had a huge amount of core games.
