Has pc gaming became as bad as Consoles?

On consoles, the young console people run out. They tell mother they are going to GAME to buy the next existing Call of Duty (whatever one is it). Every year, without fail, record sales. Same shit over and over.

Pc gamers mock this. But really, aren't they all just hoping onto steam buying Dayz/Minecraft clones under different names and guises?

In some respects, isn't it actually worse?

My friends, for example, this game looks like some shit from the ps2 days, it is almost the same price as a AAA game and being sold in an unfinished state.

My friend, no, not in this day and age. However, on system wars, I see these pc gamers mocking them. Making claims to original innovative titles making bold claims that the console people only buy copy pasted hyped military shooters.

However... they seem to do the exact same thing with Dayz/Minecraft clones. They aren't even very good games or finished most of the time.

Your generalizations are troubling... You should play some other games TC. Grouping an entire fanbase into the games you choose to recognize as faults is really sad... and extremely short sighted.

My friend, as someone who has been on steam for well over 9 years and a true pc gamer I can tell you first hand, this is mostly the view from the hill. Early access Dayz/Mincraft clones. While objectively pc gaming is superior and being a pc gamer makes you superior this argument towards console gamers is fruitless hypocrisy. In general, console gamers deserve more respect. Especially the ones on system wars.

I think it's a consumerism problem not a pc gamer problem

My friend as a long time Arma player, I can tell you now, factually... you are wrong. The forums are now (and has been for some time) infested with the young people new to steam polluting the forums with Dayz nonsense.

Respect on System Wars, in my opinion, should go to those who show a little humility in conversation, not on what they are playing. In reality there are far more gamers who appreciate many genres, platforms, franchises and preferences than there are people who just play CoD, Minecraft or any other increasingly maligned IP through popularity... Gamers are gamers... In 30 years of gaming, mostly on console, the only difference I've seen between PC gamers and Consolites is that those who enjoy PC gaming are willing to spend a little more money and time ensuring they have the optimum experience. Our gaming tendencies however are identical.

And Arma came out BEFORE Dayz. You said Dayz clones, which would be something that came out AFTER Dayz. Get your facts straight junior.

No, it's not as bad as the console situation because you have a much larger variety of in-depth games/genres to choose from and have access to much better hardware.

Most PC gamers I know are simmers. I and about a dozen of my friends are flight simmers, I know a few train simmers, quite a few of us play naval sims, and we're all pinning for another good space sim (please Star Citizen, please pull it off).

Beyond that, a few of us play Guild Wars 2, many of us still play Diablo 2, and most of us play some sort of strategy games be it Total War, Civilization, or the grognard games you've never heard of because sites like GS completely ignore them.

We aren't in competition with any of the consoles because none of the consoles cater to our needs.

Pc gamers consistently declare themselves "master race" and talk down to console gamers. The ironic thing is, most of the games they play are console ports and genres once pc are now mostly console titles. Much of the time they are forced to wait months after console gamers.
