Has Sony recaptured the glory of the ps1/ps2 days?

We all know Sony effed up last gen, especially the first two years. But it looks like Sony is back at the top of their game (pun intended). PS4 is number 1 worldwide and selling strong. Games are being announced like crazy. Indies are on board. Naughty Dog, Guerilla, and Media Molecule are the best trio of first party developers there is. PSX Experience. Tons of support from Japan. Street Fighter 4 is ours. Uncharted 4 is on its way. Best hardware in the business. Best controller. PS+ brings the best value in history. Is Sony finally back to the glory days? I really don't think anyone can stop them.

Yes and no, but they did adjust to the 2010s wonderfully.

Yep, 2015 looks like their return to greatness. Nothing's stopping the train when it gets rolling with the best combination of 1st and 3rd party support. The PS4 will dominate in games and sales while being the most powerful console.

Sony made all the right moves, while Nintendo and Microsoft shot themselves in the foot.

The signs were all there for another balanced gen. Then Nintendo had to go and design a console around an expensive device that is neither tablet, nor controller. While Microsoft decided to give their fans the finger, by pushing some stupid DRM and other restrictions, then backing out at the last second like the spineless bastards they are.

So yeah, Sony didn't even have to work hard for this victory. The competition handed it to them on a silver platter.

I like my PS4 and am excited for 2015 but I dont think sony is back to its glory days for me. When I look back at PS1/2 I think of the truckloads of amaZing RPGs. I always remember rpgs longer and have more memories of them than other games. Suikoden1-5, wild arms, 2 thousand awesome squaresoft rpgs.

Those days are gone unfortunetly. But I am excited to be a PS4 owner(and all the others as well)

No, they haven't and probably never will. They are now just a mere shadow of their former selves. I don't want to be associated with them.

"Street Fighter 4 is ours"...What a fanatic language you use. And besides, it's on PC too, but whenever a game is on Xbox and PC or on two Xbox platforms - it doesn't exist to you. Interesting.

Ps4 is doing great and 2015 is looking quite interesting for it but I don't think we can compare it to Ps2 or Ps1.

Probably impossible to get back glory days, because even if 3rd parties gradually don't want to bother with the other 2 last place consoles, there will still be far more PS4>PC games than there were in the old days. It's too easy to bring PC games to market, and that's why even when consoles get an "exclusive" it's very often going to be PS4>PC or XB1>PC.

they are destroying the competition more because the competition sucks and not because they are great right now, but that will soon change.

Street Fighter 5 is "yours".
