Has the Samsung announcment that they will be bringing out a HD player that plays both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD movies swayed you with respect to which console you are going to buy?

i still think these whole new formats are ahead of time, most people dont even have HD

agree with that. next gen format is going to blow the roof just yet, still a long time to go and im perfectly happy with DVDs.

Agree, DVD still has some ways to go.

yep

the LG didnt support the special features on HD-DVD so i didnt buy it

im looking for a Blu-ray/HD-DVD player for my upstairs TV. I have a 42" HDTV downstairs and my HD-DVD player is connected to that

Considering the craptacular quality of Samsung's first Blu-ray player, I think I'll stick with my PS3 as my primary movie player for now.
