Holiday season is around the corner, and there will be plenty of new games for each console. However, top analysts expects the world economy to be the worst it has ever seen since the Great Depression. How will you be able to afford for gaming, soon? Personally, I will not buy any gaming product until Spring of '09. For system wars purpose, PS3 owner will have it the hardest because they have the best gaming line-up this holiday season. Thoughts?

This almost exact topic popped up once before, and it got out of hand REALLY quickly.

It has. No job: more time for gaming while I look for another.

All I know is that the highest starting priced console will get hit the worse.

Anyway, I don't think it has affected my gaming habbits yet because I don't even think twice when buying the games I'm interested in, I still purchase them with no hesitation.

On the other hand, I tend to not go eat at restuarants and avoid my friends who wants to go to clubs and bars and spend money on bottles of drinks. Matter of fact, I rather just stay home and play a video game than going from house to house wasting gas and money and putting in money to drinks to get you intoxicated.

Kind of yes. I'm more selective in the games I get. October and November are going to be expensive for me though.

Tight I just recently got laid off a few weeks back, and am still looking for a job.. My location was forced to close due to not pulling in enough profit.

it has ... due to the fact I am working in finance only, i have been very very busy for the past few weeks due to more work and less people (putting 14+ hours), that I have had very little time to play. the last time i played for more than one hour would be 3 months back. I havn't played any of the recent games like crysis warhead, stalker : cs, spore etc :(

It's great to have a budget, but this crisis will effect you directly and indirectly. What about the cost of schooling, food, and gas rising? Are you saying this won't damper your purchase in games at all?

Thank God for gaming back-log. I've got enough unplayed games on my shelf to last me for at least another year without spending another dime on gaming.

Less partying, less going out, less dates. If I want to buy the game then I will just reduce other activities to balance things out. I don't need to go out every weekend, I don't need to always party. I'm perfectly content sitting in occasionally just having time to myself.

Hi skullgangs. :D anyway no it's not affecting my gaming. If I want a game I just buy a game and just lower other areas of where my money is going.

No it hasn't. I still have my job and I'm not financially strained (thank god for being in the upper middle class =P thank you NYC high salaries). Also I only buy gas once a week so its not like thats draining my money like some people.
