I've found the motion controls for Wii, aside from aiming a gun, to be forced and tacked on just because it's the Wii. In fact that's how I feel for most motion controls including anything to do with the retarded PS3 controller as well.

That's the developers' fault. When used properly, they can be incredibly immersive and prove that Wii controls add to the experience. Tell me with a straight face that Zack and Wiki is nothing but stick swinging.
Depends on the game. Wii Sports for example, has bowling and tennis which could not have been done the same way with buttons (spin control in both, and how high you swing in tennis effecting either lob or spike).
The problem is, too many developers/publishers are too concerned with making a profit to risk forcing complex motion control into their game. You'll see that many devs are more likely to use IR pointing, which in itself is revolutionary.
That's why Wiiware is so important, less risk and more experimentation. And mark my words many games that become hits on Wiiware will go on to revolutionize control as full fledged games.
It hasnt revolutionized anything yet. What it has done is replaced button presses for some games with 'motions':
Zelda TP
Marvel UA
DragonBlade
those three are examples.
Yet the wiimote has managed to improve games or make unique games like:
Metroid Prime 3 (improving the control setup from the last)
Medal of honor heroes 2 (best fps controls on a console, without a doubt)
zack and wiki (would not be as good with just button presses)
Trauma Center games (hard to do without wii mote or ds stylus.)

So far I've found zero entertainment from the Wiimote in any game besides Wii Sports. They should've just made a system with half decent graphics instead.SolidSnake35
Yea that would have been a fantastic business decision.
The motion control is largely dependant upon how its used. The real revolution is the IR.HoffgodAgreed I think there is only 2 games that Use the Wii Remote Motion Sensing to good use No More Heroes and Wii Sports those are the only games that I played that had Motion Sensing that didn't involve the IR Pointer that actually had good controls.
the fact that SSBB, the wii's biggest game of 08, plays BETTER with a standard controller proves that:
1. wii controls are forfiet for most games
2. any serious game should have standard controllers.
JPOBS
No all that proves is that Wii controls arent the best suited for the fighter genre.

most wii games could have been done just as well with standard controllers.even the wii-mote's area of "expertise", the FPS, could obviously be done on old controllers.
So? Heck, you can do FPS with a NES controller, but would it be as good as with a 360 controller? No, it wouldn't. Just like you can do FPS with a 360 controller, but is it as good as with the Wiimote? No, it isn't.most wii games could have been done just as well with standard controllers.

Zak & Wiki couldn't work I think because it is a Point and Click Adventure/ Puzzle game.Trauma Center would be Impossible with Dual Analogue Controls because it was made for Wii Controls and DS Controls it would be impossible to play it with Dual Analogue.

And Brawl can be done on the Wiimote. FPS's can be done without a pointer or mouse using dual analogs, but the control method is vastly inferior.
We won't really see the revolution until next generation when everyone is using a motion device for a controller.
TC, I think your poll means the same thing with the choices. We all should give the devs some time to get the control scheme on the Wii correct and by next gen; the control scheme for motion sensing controls will be vastly improved from what the Wii has established on ALL consoles (yes, I'm saying that even MS and Sony will start having motion sensing controls to keep up with Nintendo; who will also improve on what they've done with the Wii).Action_Player
I hope you're wrong. I get the feeling that motion controls will be ruining more games than it makes fun.

Give the devs some time to get whatever the programming is named for control scheme for the Wii right. Sure, some of the games are "stick swinging" but the Wii can't do 1:1 control scheme since that is FAR into the future and we won't be seeing it anytime soon. Even if you were to over-exaggerate your movements; it's all in the name of fun and that's what gaming is all about.
Motion controls are the future of gaming and will be the "in" thing when next gen comes out.
It really matters how the motion controls on a Wiimote is used in a game.
Games like Excite Truck & Red Steel didn't use the controls well while games like SSBB, SMG, and Twilight Princess are.
-Jiggles-
Super Smash Brothers Brawl doesn't use motion sensing controls, and Twilight Princess's controls were tacked on and forced.
I liked Excite Truck's controls.
It's a mixed bag that favors poll option 1. Hopefully devs can think of ways to use it.....MikeE21286
The games that it works in, it really works... the others... Ya... most others... um not really all that great.
The pointing is the real revolution.

Your right and wrong. SSBB has the option to use Motion Sensing controls... it has 4 or so control options.
Like everything in life, it depends. They work great in 1st and 3rd person shooters, and any game that uses the pointer. The tilt controls work well in games like Monkey Ball and Mercury Meltdown Revolution. The waggle is.. overused, but has its intuitive uses as well. The list of games that use the controls well contiune to grow, including: Twilight Princess, Wario Ware, Resident Evil 4, Madden 07, Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, Zack and Wiki, Medal of Honor, and many more.
I bolded Metroid Prime 3 because it, by far, best utilizies the Wiimote in both the FPS aspects, as well as in the general interactions with the enviornment.
For some genres, like FPS and sports, there is no turning back. But other genres, like action games, it makes no difference.Willy105
so u think that MO is more fun then COD4? or madden is better on Wii? i dont think so.
