For me my GOTY hasn't come out yet I think it will probably be Cyberpunk 2077 but for now my nominees are Ghost Of Tsushima and Tony Hawk pro skater 1+2 remastered. What about you?

Yes its out.
Nominees are:
Doom Eternal, Black Mesa and Desperados 3.
Winner is:
Doom Eternal.
more to come Cyberpunk 2077, Mafia remake. also would have been Deathloop too if not delayed.
@warmblur:
So far..
Final Fantasy VII remake
Last of Us Part II
Resident Evil 3 Remake
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2 Remake
Doom Eternal
I'm still looking forward to playing
the year 2020 has been best year since. i guess 2004 or 07 either or last few years suck so and so much.
Well GOTY for game sites this year will either be Nintendo game or Sony game. Good news is that MS made nothing but flops this year
Lets see how Cyberpunk 2077 turns out, got high chance of GOTY from history. Otherwise Persona 5 Royal or Final Fantasy VII Remake.
The Last of Us 2 is going to win the GOTY by default. It is already GOTG and in contention for GOTD.
Runner ups?
Ghost of Tsushima
Final Fantasy VII: Remake
Doom Eternal
Persona 5: Royal
Cyberpunk 2077
Holy shit what a year for PS gamers.
Will probably be Cyberpunk 2077.
Truth be told, I don't buy many new games. Always prefer to wait for sales, and I am very patient. So far, the only proper 2020 releases I've bought are Ori and the Will of the Wisps and Cyberpunk 2077 (pre-ordered). The rest of my purchases are either old games (Remnant: From the Ashes, Northgard), late ports and remasters (Horizon Zero Dawn, Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning), or former Epic Games hostages (Control, probably upcoming Phoenix Point).
So yeah, Cyberpunk won't have much competition.
Final Fantasy VII Remake
Doom Eternal
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2
Streets of Rage 4
Resident Evil 3 Remake
Super Mario 3D All-Stars
Those are my favorite games to release so far this year. I would actually give the nod to Streets of Rage 4 just because it's an original title and I really love those old school beat em' up style games from the 90's, my absolute favorite as a kid. They never get old and are so fun to play through with friends. Streets of Rage 4 really seems to have added just enough gameplay elements to keep it feeling fresh and also just enough to add a higher skill ceiling, allowing you to really get better the more you play.
Streets of Rage 4 already won it, and it's also my second favorite game of the gen.
Other games I've enjoyed this year so far are:
I hope it's Cyberpunk 2077, until then, I dunno, Doom Eternal wouldn't be a horrible pick. I had a lot of fun with Zombie Army 4 myself.
Right now it’s a toss up between Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Super Mario 3D All-Stars. It’ll probably end up being Cyberpunk 2077 but Gears Tactics may be a very strong contender as well.
Hopefully it'll be Cyberpunk.
up to this point, its Doom Eternal followed by Wasteland 3 and Desperados 3.
haven't played TLOU2 or Ghosts yet but I doubt either of those would beat the above games from what I've seen.
if Hell Let Loose comes out officially this year it'll be in the mix as well.
I'm still looking forward to playing

You don't game...why would you have an opinion on something you have no experience with. Trolling a gaming forum does not constitute participating in the pastime, just so you're aware.
I don't have a single standout game, just a few I really enjoyed. Most of the best stuff I've played this year was catching up on games I missed, or revisiting classics.
Streets of Rage 4 and Doom Eternal are at the top of the pack for games that saw their initial release this year.
TW101 remaster is probably my favorite release this year, but port of a 6 year old game. Similar situation with SM64 PC port. Old ass game, but the best its ever been.
Still plenty of promising stuff I haven't got around to yet. Will of the Wisps, Desperados 3, Origami King, etc. And with Ultrakill being in early access, good chance that'll surpass Eternal for me when I get around to it. The free demo was killer.
Factorio hit 1.0, so probably that.
Desperados 3 was also great.
But as others have said, it will probably be Cyberpunk 2077 when it is released. CDPR would have to really, really, really, really screw things up to make me not like it.
It's gonna be TLOU2, Cyberpunk and Spiritfarer for me.
I enjoyed TLOU2 and Spiritfarer tremendously and sure will Cyberpunk 2077 as well.
